摘要:
Using a long-chain derivative of amino acid containing naphthalene, the arrangement of the chromophore in the LB films has been examined by circular dichroism (CD) together with UV absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies. The monolayer of N-stearoyl-L-lysyl-L-1-naphthylalanine methylester exhibits a transition from expanded to condensed states. For the LB films prepared at the surface pressures below and above the transition, polarized UV spectra suggest different orientations of the chromophore and also the CD spectra vary significantly of types and magnitude of a Cotton effect. These results were reflected in the fluorescence decay curves for the LB films.

摘要:
Glassy films of p-terphenyl were prepared by evaporation onto cold metal substrates. Raman spectra in the lattice and intramolecular vibrational regions were measured to observe the annealing processes of the glassy films for temperatures ranging from 99K to 270K, and compared with those of liquid and polycrystalline samples. It was found that the intramolecular conformational change of the molecule takes place before the long-range ordering in the intermolecular packing.

摘要:
The microstructure-dependence of photoelectric properties have been studied for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films containing 5-(4-N-decylpyridinium)-10, 15, 20-tri-p-tolyl porphyrin (PyP) and arachidic acid (AA). Two-dimensional distribution profiles of short-circuit photocurrent (Isc) exhibited clear bumps and valleys for the LB films with large PyP or AA domains. The spatial averages of Isc tended to show lower values for smaller domain structures, suggesting a great contribution of carrier recombination at the PyP-AA interface.

摘要:
Organic double-layered film composed of vanadyl phthalocyanine (VOPc) and poly-Ge-O-phthalocya-nine (GeOPc) was obtained by vapor deposition. Structure of the interface between the layers was investigated by molecular imaging with high resolution electron microscopes and good commensurate structural correlation was observed.

摘要:
Current-voltage characteristics of Au/evaporated lead phthalocyanine film/Au sandwich-type cells showed nonlinear electrical properties with asymmetric barriers. From analyses of crystal structures of PbPc films, these barriers were found to be attributable to nonuniformity of crystal structure and orientation along the film thickness.

摘要:
Poly(m-phenylenemethynyls) and other conjugated polymers to which photolabile diazo or azido groups are attached in every repeating unit have been synthesized. When photolyzed and studiedin situby means of a Faraday balance equipped with a light guide at cryogenic temperatures, the hexa- and nonacarbenes obtained by stepwise synthesis were found to be in S = 6 and 9 ground states, respectively. Attempts to sythesize real polymer samples capable of showing S = 102∼3were made. These materials would serve as prototypes for organic opto-magnetic recording devices.

摘要:
Twin donors which have two BEDT-7TF units linked by alkanedithio bridge(s) have been prepared. Two types of radical ion salts of single methylenedithio-bridged donor1were obtained through electrocrystallization. Crystal A ·CIO4) exhibits antiferromagnetic interaction among phane-type conformers, while Crystal B (1·(CIO4)0.5) is semiconductor with an activation energy of 5 × 10-2eV. The radical ion salt obtained from double ethylenedithio-bridged donor5(5·ClO4) is metallic down to 130K. The crystal structure is characterized by the presence of a unique three dimensional S···S network.

We found a weak ferromagnetic interaction in solid (octabutoxyphthalocyaninato)cobalt CoPc(OBu)8at low temperature. It is conceivable that a dimer of CoPc(OBu)8having a triplet ground state is involved in the magnetic property of this material.

摘要:
Magnetic-property measurements of pyrolytic carbon prepared by the thermal CVD of adamantane were carried out using the Faraday balance method and the ESR spectroscopy. The content of ferromagnetic metallic oxide as impurity in the samples has been confirmed to be low enough not to influence on the present magnetic-property measurements. Analysis of the measurement results has shown that the sample obtained are basically superparamagnetic and, even, ferromagnetic at low temperatures in a certain sample.

摘要:
An intermolecular orbital interaction theory presented previously has been applied to elucidate the mechanisms of spin alignments in the ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic metallocenium(M)–TCNE complexes (MV, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni) and other CT complexes. It is found that spin polarization and super-exchange interactions play important roles for the ferro- and antiferro-magnetic spin alignments, respectively. Ab initio calculations have been carried out for model complexes.
