摘要:
The morphological change of vapor-deposited films of TPD (N, N′-diphenyl-N, N′-bis-(3-methylphenyl)-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4,4′-diamine) and Alq3 (Tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum) and the interfacial degradation of Alq3/TPD bilayer were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and fluorescence spectroscopy, respectively, in the temperature range from room temperature to 80°C under an ambient atmosphere. The TPD and the Alq3 film are widely used as a hole transport and an emitter layer, respectively, in an organic electroluminescent device (an indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass/TPD/Alq3/metal). As the substrate plate, an ITO coated glass or a slide glass was used in this work.

摘要:
Novel optical and electroluminescent characteristics of organic multiple-quantum-well (MQW) structure have been discussed comparing with MQW structure which consists of cyclopentadiene derivatives (PPCP) and aromatic diamine (TPD) and that of aluminum quinoline (Alq3) and aromatic diamine (TPD). Energy transfer of excitons has been found in both MQW structures of PPCP/TPD and Alq3/TPD systems. Unique electroluminescent characteristics with emission spectrum has been discussed in PPCP/TPD MQW system comparing with that of Alq3/TPD MQW system.

摘要:
Field effect and capacitance-voltage characteristics of vacuum evaporated C60films are studied using metal-oxide-semiconductor structures such as metal / C60/ SiO2/ n+-Si or C60/ source-drain electrodes / SiO2/ n+-Si. The electrical conductivity, carrier type, carrier concentration, and carrier mobility are estimated from these measurements. In particular, electrical characteristics during the deposition in vacuum and the influence of oxygen and nitrogen gases are investigated by the in-situ field effect measurement.

摘要:
The alignment behavior of a nematic liquid crystal on polyethylenimine-based azobenzene LB monolayers is investigated. Difference in the linkage manner of the azobenzene side chain, covalent bond or ionic bond led to unmatched results in the liquid crystal alignment.

摘要:
Photovoltaic properties of two-layer organic p/n junction solar cells were studied for vacuum-deposited films of p-type phthalocyanine derivatives having different π-electron conjugating macrocycles and n-type N,N′-substituted 3, 4:9, 10-perylenebis(dicarboximide) having different peripheral groups. The power conversion efficiency was optimized by controlling the film thickness, morphology and contact with top-electrodes. The film morphology of the perylene derivatives changed depending on their peripheral alkyl groups, and higher photocurrents were obtained for the cell with a homogeneous layer of perylene derivatives. The molecular modification in p-type phthalocyanine derivatives changed the cell photovaltage. A substitution with electron-withdrawing groups, which lowered the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy of the p-type molecules, increased the photovoltage. On the other hand, an extention of the macrocyclic ring from phthalocyanine to naphthalocyanine lowered the photovoltaic efficiency.

摘要:
Several polymeric electroluminescent (EL) devices, possessing the poly(p-phenylenevinylene) (PPV) and polyimide LB films used as the light emitting layer and the hole transporting layer respectively, were fabricated by the LB technique. In these heterostructural EL devices, the luminance over 100 cd/m2was achieved, which was more than 10 times higher than that of the single layer (PPV LB film only) device. Furthermore, by incorporation of the hole transporting layer to the EL devices, remarkable improvements in charge injection and EL efficiency were observed. These improvements could be controlled by varying the thickness of the hole transporting layer.

摘要:
To increase the sensitivity of immunoassay or immunosensor, many amounts of antibody should be immobilized. Allylamine thin film was formed on a flat silver plate by plasma-polymerization and this plate was referred to as Ag(ALAM). Adsorption of F(ab')2anti-human IgG onto Ag and Ag(ALAM) was investigated. The following results were obtained: (1) The adsorption isotherm of F(ab')2anti-hIgG onto Ag(ALAM) or Ag was a Langmuir type. The saturation binding for this antibody onto Ag(ALAM) was approximately 2-fold than that on Ag. (2) Ag(ALAM) and Ag were used as solid phases in two-site immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) of human serum IgG, and dose responses were compared. The dose response on Ag(ALAM) occurred at lower concentration than that on Ag and the magnitude of the dose response on Ag(ALAM) was larger than that on Ag.
