摘要:
A newly emerging class of inorganic-organic hybrids is presented as promising materials for passive and active components of photonic devices. Reactive (photopolymerizable) ormogels (organically modified gels) are inorganic-organic macromers equipped in reactive groups capable of heat or radiation induced polymerization. They are similar to reactive oligomers, components of UV-curable formulations, but differ in that their main backbone is inorganic in nature. Strategies leading to the synthesis of reactive ormogels include: hydrolytic and non-hydrolytic sol-gel processing of organosilanes, and metal alkoxide and functional silylation of colloidal inorganic oxides.

摘要:
The addition of fillers and additive in plastic is well recognized to impart desired properties to the virgin plastic such as improvement of mechanical and thermal properties as well as of cost(1). There are, however, some adverse effects upon using such fillers, for example, toughness and ultimate elongation of polymers often suffer with the addition of fillers. A practical interest originated from the addition of clay minerals as polymers fillers to enlarge their potential and actual applications. Almost any powdered material can be used as a filler, the common ones being obtained from natural deposits. Of the several hundred fillers used, those which find spread use are the various grades of CaCO3, quartz and silica flours, talc and various clay.(2)Kaolinite has been used as a filler for thermoplastics. Kaolinite is characterized by small grain size and plate shape. These properties are useful in the production of a compound with high strength and electrical insulation. The advantages of using clay as filler in plastics are in the producing a smooth surface finishing, low water absorption and improving the mechanical properties while increasing the chemical and weathering resistances(3).

摘要:
Investigation concerning the structure and molecular dynamics of a nanocomposite made up of poly(p-phenylene sulfide) and silicon dioxide (SiO2) has been conducted by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). AFM and NMR studies of samples PPS in the neat and composite forms show that during annealing the fragmentation of big agglomerates of PPS take place. Between agglomerates and smaller aggregates there exist repulsion forces which are probably the source of fragmentation in the polymer network. The work has also proved that inside agglomerates and smaller aggregates of PPS dipolar magnetic interaction exist, whereas the electrostatic one occurs between them.

摘要:
Fresh basalt fibers are practically amorphous. Due to high temperature action these fibers have ability to partially crystallize. This form of basalt fibers can be more brittle and their strength can be too low. In this contribution the strength of basalt filament yarns is investigated at room temperature and after tempering to the50, 100, 200, 300, 400and500°C. Structural changes of fibers are identified by scanning electron microscopy. The strength drop of basalt filaments after long term temperature exposition is described by the linear spline nonparametric model.

摘要:
Optical conductivity spectra of the organic composite (BEDT-TTF)2/I3obtained by direct solid-solid charge-transfer reaction between bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene and iodine are investigated in the infrared range. It shown that the granular structure of the composite strongly influence its conductivity for optical frequencies.

摘要:
The fabrication process of thermoplastic composites using hybrid fabrics composed of yarns made of glass and PA6 fibres as prepregs is presented. The influence of the structure of hybrid yarns produced using commingled, texturising, twisting and friction spinning technology on the mechanical properties of composites is discussed. The results of the investigation indicate that the best tensile and bending properties of composites were achieved using fabrics made from texturing yarns produced under optimal conditions. These optimal conditions should ensure the minimum destruction of filaments during the blending process.

摘要:
The sol-gel process opens new possibilities in the field of biotechnology. Enzymes such as glucose oxydase and lipase can be trapped within sol-gel glasses without loosing their bioactivity. Small analytes diffuse through the pores of the silica matrix allowing in-situ biocatalytic reactions to be performed.Escherichia colibacteria have also been encapsulated. Their cellular organization is preserved and they still exhibit noticeable enzymatic activity, even on dried xerogels. Antibody-antigen recognition has been shown to be feasible within sol-gel matrices and whole cell protozoa have been used as antigens for blood tests with human sera.
