摘要:
AbstractThe published data on the abundance determinations for magnetic Ap‐stars were considered critically. The traditional methods of curve of growth were shown to be unsufficient for quantitative analysis of the atmospheres of magnetic Ap‐stars due to inhomogeneous structure of the surface of these stars. Only qualitative results can be obtained by these methods.Correlations between overabundances of different elements are considered. Very distinct correlations exist between overabundances of Mn and Zr, between Fe and rare earths and others. No correlation could be found between overabundance of elements andTeff. The methods of determination of local abundances and the results obtained — overabundances of some elements in spots and underabundances of them out of spots ‐ are considered. AbstractThe deficiency of spectroscopic binaries among Ap stars compared with normal stars is confirmed. In systems with Ap components of other than Mn‐Hg type we have a lack of short periods. 摘要:
AbstractIt is shown that owing to the “battery” effect the spatial nonuniform helium distribution in Ap stars causes the toroidal magnetic field 103–104gauss. Possible circulations of stellar matter in this field produce the poloidal magnetic field of the same order as the toroidal one even if the velocities of circulations are about 10−4–10−5cm/s. The chemical anomaly in its turn is supported and amplified by the magnetic field. 摘要:
AbstractHR 5153 is a peculiar star of the SrCrEu type which has not been studied in details so far.BURKEandHOWARD(1972) found that the star is variable inUandB, while inVits light does not vary. They also determined the period of the light variationsP= 1d.706.In this paper the reality of this period is discussed assuming an oblique rotator model. From the profile of the Mg II 4481 line the value ofVsini= (21 ± 5) km s−1has been derived. From the derived value ofVsini, and assuming that the star radius isR= (2.95 ± 0.75)R±, the angle of the inclination of the star rotational axis has been calculated toi= (14 ± 5)°. With such a small angle of inclination it is very difficult to explain the observed periodical light variations with the aid of an oblique rotator model. By the analysis of the photometric data ofBURKEandHOWARD(1972) a longer period of 2d.433 has been found, this being identical with the period obtained by the working group of W.SCHÖNEICH, by the analysis of their own photometric materials. AbstractIt is concluded that the generation regions of the spots are disposed in latitudes below 60° relative to the rotation equator in Ap stars.
