摘要:
A new polymerization technique for the synthesis of the high molecular weight hydrophilic polymers was developed. This new method of inverse suspension polymerization is based on the principle of the gradually polymerization of the initiated water solution monomer droplets during their fall through no stirring continuous oil phase which is filled in a long vertical reactor. This technique was used for the preparation of spherical polymeric beads of high molecular weight sodium salt of polyacrylic acid Polymeric particles were separated, dried and tested as a waterabsorbing material for baby diapers napkins.

摘要:
Polymerized inverse-macroemulsions based on acrylamide and the quaternary ammonium dimethylaminoethyl acrylate were studied and were found to be stable for periods exceeding three months. These low or ‘non’ settling inverse-emulsions were produced by blending small amounts of sorbitan fatty acid esters and polyethoxylated sorbitans with ABA-type block copolymeric surfactants based on similar constituents. Inverse-laticies were produced which had a majority of their particle size distribution below 200 nm, with individual means as low as 120 nm. The effect of the aqueous-to-organic phase, the comonomer composition, the synthesis temperature, and the temperature peak for semi-adiabatic syntheses were investigated to elucidate their respective roles in stabilization. The minimum level of surfactant required for stability, under various conditions, was also estimated. The relationship between the stability, particle diameter and transparency of the inverse-latex is discussed.

摘要:
The use of butyl lactate as cosurfactant on the preparation of microemulsions with anionic surfactant is suggested. A parallel study between the classical system water/sodium dodecyl sulphate/pentanol and the proposed water/sodium dodecyl sulphate/butyl lactate has been carried out on their capacities of incorporating heptane as lipophilic component. The results obtained show the ability of butyl lactate to prepare microemulsions, allowing the incorporation of heptane up to contents of 30–40% at higher dilutions with water than the classical system containing pentanol.

摘要:
Transformation of liquid sprays into foamed sprays was achieved with the use of a nozzle that contained a screen placed at a distance from the nozzle orifice. The quality of transformation was controlled by the percent open area of the screen with its optimum value being around 46%. Other important spray characteristics that affect the quality of foamed sprays are the spray velocity and distance between screen and orifice. The mechanism responsible for the transformation of liquid droplets into foamed particles is considered to be that of collisions between the liquid droplets and liquid bridges formed in the screen openings. The neck thickness of the liquid bridges depends on the percent open area of the screen. A low percent open area screen results in thick liquid bridges that cannot be effectively penetrated by the liquid droplets. On the other hand, a high percent open area screen results in very thin liquid bridges that are penetrated by the liquid droplets without transforming them into foamed particles.

摘要:
By using the porous glass membrane method, we obtained a monodispersed emulsion. Effects of oil varying in droplet size and volume on the brittleness and brittleness strain (breakability after rupture of emulsion gels by a compressive force) of o/w emulsion gels were investigated by compressive measurement. Droplets ranged in size from 1·5 μ m to 12·2 μ m in diameter. Volume fractions were 0·1, 0·2 and 0·3. For each oil volume fraction, the brittleness of

摘要:
Bis( 1 -F-alkylvinyl) tri and tetraoxyethylene non ionic surfactants were obtained by action of F-alkylfluoromethylcarbinols on tri and tetraethylene glycol di-p-tosylates The amphiphilic properties of these surfactants were investigated by measuring their surface tension in aquous solution and their interfacial(water-cyclohexane) tension.
