The novel C13-glucoside β-ionyl-β-D-glucopyranoside2awas identified in purple passionfruit as a genuine precursor of isomeric megastigma-4,6,8-trienes1a-d. The identification was verified by comparison of HRGC and HRGC-MS data of the peracetylated natural product with those of an authentic specimen synthesized by a modified Königs-Knorr procedure.

Bioactivity-guided fractionation of a methylene chloride extract from the leaves ofPiper aduncumafforded a new amide, aduncamide. In addition, the light petrol extract yielded the sesquiterpenes viridiflorol, cubebol, spathulenol and caryophyllenol-II. For cubebol the13C-NMR data are fully assigned. Aduncamide displayed antibacterial and cytotoxic activities.

摘要:

A new pyrrolidine alkaloid, bgugaine,1was isolated along with irniine,2, fromArisarum vulgaretubers and its structure elucidated by1H and13C 2D-COSY NMR techniques. The antibiotic and antifungal properties of both alkaloids were investigated. They exhibited inhibitory effects on the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, yeasts and some filamentous fungi.
