A new highly oxygenated sesquiterpene lactone with the rare 4-methyl-7-isopropyl-9-ethyl-perhydroindene skeleton, named acrifolide, was isolated as minor constituent from the aerial parts ofAchillea crithmifolia. Its structure was elucidated by spectral methods.

Four new ecdysteroids, 3-epi-22-deoxy-20,26-dihydroxyecdysone (1) and 3-epi-22-deoxy-16β,20-dihydroxyecdysone (3), and their 2-phosphoric esters (2and4) have been isolated from the diapause eggs of the silkworm,Bombyx mori. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.

Penicilliumsp., isolated from the leaves ofTaxus cuspidata, produced three new penicillides, 3′-O-methyldehydroisopenicillide (3), 2′-hydroxy-3′,4′-didehydropenicillide (4) and 1′,2′-epoxy-3′,4′-didehydro-penicillide (6) as well as the known compound dehydroisopenicillide (2) when grown in liquid culture. These structures were determined by analyses of HR-FABMS, DQF-COSY, PFG-HMQC, PFG-HMBC, and NOE data.
