摘要:
The pattern of incorporation of sodium [1,2-13C2]acetate into cardinalin 21by the fruit bodies of the toadstoolDermocybe cardinalisshows that both halves of the molecule are formed biosynthetically from an octaketide in which the C 3 and C 3′ methyl groups come from the acetate starter unit while the C 1 and C 1′ methyls originate from the terminal methylene group. This folding pattern is opposite to that observed during the biosynthesis of pyranonaphthoquinones in bacteria.

摘要:
Two diketopiperazines, cyclo-(L-prolyl-L-glycine) and cyclo-(L-phenylalanyl-4R-hydroxy-L-proline), and 2,4-dibromo-6-chlorophenol were isolated from cultures of the marine bacterium,Pseudoalteromonas luteoviolacea. Cyclo-(L-prolyl-L-glycine) and cyclo-(L-phenylalanyl-4R-hydroxy-L-proline) stimulated antibiotic production in this strain. 2,4-Dibromo-6-chlorophenol showed antibacterial activity against methicillin resistantStaphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and the cystic fibrosis associated pathogenBurkholderia cepacia.

摘要:
Antioxidative activities for lipid peroxidation of C-glycosylflavones isolated from the fruits ofBoreava orientalisand related compounds were studied. C-glycosylflavones, especially isovitexin and isoorientin, were found to be antioxidative constituents of the fruits ofB. orientalis. The activity of isoorientin was stronger than that of isovitexin.

The bark extracts ofCalophyllum teysmanniifurnished (-)-ledol (1a) and its structure and stereochemistry were established by 2D NMR and synthesis from (+)-aromadendrene. Inconsistencies of previously reported data on the stereochemistry of (-)-ledol are discussed and corrected.

摘要:
Bioassay-guided fractionation allowed the isolation of two minor, caged cytotoxic tetraprenylated xanthonoids, gaudichaudiones I and J (1and2), from the leaf extract ofGarcinia gaudichaudii. The structures were determined by spectral analysis which provided good agreement with the previously isolated gaudichaudi-one B(3).

摘要:
A new fernane-type triterpene, named integrifolin (1), was isolated and characterized from the aerial parts ofTeucrium integrifolium. The structure of the new compound was deduced to be 3β-hydroxy-fern-9(11)-en-23-oic acid through its spectral properties and X-ray crystallographic analysis.
