摘要:
A new bidesmosidic pentacyclic triterpenoid saponin, oleragenoside, was isolated fromSpinacia oleraceaL. plants (1). Its novel aglycone, representing 2-hydroxy-gypsogenin, was named oleragenin. The structure was established on the basis of spectral data as oleragenin-28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside-3-β-O-D-glucuronopyranoside.

摘要:
We have isolated and characterized a new macrocarpal named macrocarpal K, an isopentylphloroglucinol-β-eudesmol adduct. We have also tested six macrocarpals, including macrocarpal K for attachment-inhibiting activity against the blue musselMytilus edulis galloprovincialis. Macrocarpals A, B, E, am-1, H and K showed potent attachment-inhibiting activity against the blue mussel, which was 1–3 times higher than the standard antifoulant CuSO4.

摘要:
A new eremophylane-type sesquiterpene, the known compounds salvicanol, pisiferanol, 8(14),15-isopimaradien-7α-ol, β-sitosterol and natural 5α,6-dihydro-salviasperanol have been isolated from the root extract ofSalvia mellifera. The structure of the new sesquiterpene was identified by rigorous spectroscopic analyses.

摘要:
A new staurosporine analog, 4′-N-demethyl-11-hydroxystaurosporine (1), has been isolated by cytotoxicity-guided fractionation of an organic extract of the prosobranch molluskCoriocella nigra. The known staurosporine derivative 3,11-dihydroxystaurosporine (2) was also isolated from this extract. Concurrent investigations ofCoriocella hibyaeresulted in the isolation of two known compounds, lamellarins C (3) and U (4). The structures of1, 2, 3 and 4were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and the compounds were evaluated for cytotoxicity against 10 human tumor cell lines. Compounds1and2demonstrated potent cytotoxic activity with IC50's ranging from approximately 2 to 66 ng/mL.

The presence of jasmonic acid (JA) was searched in the bacteriumEscherichia colinon-pathogenicRC424strain and in the pathogenicRC-7strain. In addition, JA was screened in plant bacteria such asAzospirillum sp., Bacillus cereus, Bradyrhizobium sp. GB2andP53, Rhizobium meliloti, and in their respective culture media. Our results demonstrated that both strains ofEscherichia colisynthetize jasmonic acid and release this compound to the culture medium. Jasmonic acid was also identified as an endogenous compound of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) used in the medium. The fatty acid linolenic acid, precursor of JA in higher plants, was not found, suggesting a different biosynthetic pathway in these microorganisms. By contrast, other bacteria metabolized the jasmonic acid supplied by the yeast to the culture medium.
