Four natural gypsum rock samples were prepared and certified for major elements and some trace elements by the Analytical Group of Domtar Inc., Research Centre in Senneville (Montréal), Québec, Canada with the cooperation of Domtar Gypsum Products Laboratory in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada. The analytical round‐robin results received from 29 participating laboratories were statistically evaluated, summarized, and form the basis of this paper. These certified reference materials are primarily intended as calibration standards for the determination of major and minor elements in gypsums and gypsum related minerals and products. As certified gypsum rock samples were not available on the North‐American or world markets, these may be particularly important not only to the gypsum and cement industries, but also to geochemists, geologists and analysts of minerals and

摘要:
A method developed for radiochemical determination of gold in rock samples has been applied to six Bulgarian, four ZGI (GDR) and one USGS geostandards. The method is based on acid dissolution of the sample, followed by extraction of gold with copper diethyldithiocarbamate solution in CHCl3. The chemical yield was determined by using199Au tracer. The present data are compared with published values for the ZGI and USGS samples.

Twenty five elements in twenty six geochemical reference standards analyzed by X‐ray fluorescence spectrometry yield major and trace element concentrations close to consensus values. Ninety percent of our analyses agree with consensus values for standards to within pm 0.5 to 1.5 relative percent for major elements and pm 3 to 5 relative percent or pm 1‐3 ppm, whichever is higher, for trace elements. Determinations of trace amounts (with one exception) of chloride are reported for 41 international geochemical reference standards, 12 of which have no previously reported literature values. All determinations were made by the chloride‐specific ion‐selective electrode method of Aruscavage and Campbell with certain refinements. Chlorine is separated from most other elements in geologic materials by acid‐dissolution in a gas diffusion cell, and is subsequently determined as the chloride ion in basic solution. A statistical F‐test was applied to 19 of the standards for which three bottles of each were analyzed in triplicate with no failures. All these standards, plus the other 22 for which six analyses were performed on a single bottle, exhibited a relative standard deviation of 1‐6% for concentrations of chloride>50 ppm. 摘要:
After acid digestion, gold is extracted with MIBK and determinated by flameless atomic absorption spectrometry. The results for six USGS reference samples and fourteen French geochemical standards are presented and discussed. The agreement with working values for these standards is in the range of pm 5%.
