Two rock samples from the San Marcos Gabbro and the Lakeview Mountain Tonalite of the Southern California Batholith were prepared as U.S. Geological Survey reference samples. 摘要:
The arsenic and antimony contents of 85 geochemical reference samples have been determined by atomic absorption spectrometry with hydride generation and heated quartz cell atomizer. The sample is decomposed with a mixture of perchloric, nitric and hydrofluoric acids and potassium permanganate solution; interferences are eliminated by addition of potassium iodide, aluminium chloride and ascorbic acid. The agreement between the present results and published data is fairly good.

The carbonate‐carbon (CO2) content of forty‐one geochemical reference samples has been determined by coulometric method following acid treatment of the sample for releasing CO2. The method is superior to the conventional methods in speed, accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and the coverage of CO2range. Experimental data for eleven rare‐earth elements (REE) obtained by inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP) in five French geochemical reference standards (BE‐N, BR, DR‐N, GS‐N and FK‐N)are presented. 摘要:
The 20 ore and concentrate reference materials originally issued by the Institute of Geological Sciences (as it then was) in 1977 have been reevaluated using robust as opposed to classical statistical techniques. The opportunity has also been taken to correct minor errors and to incorporate any new data. One material, the nickel concentrate, IGS 20, has been withdrawn due to incipient oxidation. A total of 24 elemental concentrations in the remaining 19 samples have received revised values.
