摘要:
AbstractDevelopmental data from three experiments are reported in support of the assumptions that (a) there are two classes of preliminary transformations performed upon information at the early stages of thought: analyzing and memorializing; that (b) each transformation class has a characteristic ontogeny that (c) underlies the broader pattern of development of intelligence. Since most current developmental research may be characterized as concerned with the development of analytic transformations, some speculations on the additional role of memorializing transformations are proposed.
