摘要:
AbstractThe absolute from the leaves ofAmomyrtus meli(R. A. Phillippi) Legrand et Kausel (5902/5913) is dominated by 1‐phenylpentan‐3‐one (1, 36/27%) and 1‐phenylhexan‐3‐one (3, 32/53%). The absolute ofAmomyrtus luma(Molina) Legrand et Kausel (5903/5920) is more complex, but it contains also1(4.6/8.5%) and3(3.5/12.3%) as well as β‐caryophyllene oxide (10.7/6.6%) and linalol (5903:11.3%). The principal constituents of the absolute ofAmomyrtella guili(Speg.) Kausel are methyl eugenol (48.5%) and (E)‐methyl isoeugenol (6.7%), but1(3.1%) and3(4.4%) are also present. 1‐Phenylalkan‐3‐ones1–6as well as 2‐alkylchromones7–9were synthesiz

摘要:
AbstractThe essential oil content and compositon ofArtemisia judaicaL. from the Sinai Peninsula (Egypt) and the Negev Desert (southern Israel) are related to a variety of factors such as season, plant age, and different plant parts. Differences were found also from samples collected at various locations. The contents fluctuated with the season, reaching the highest level during the late summer. Seasonal variations in the essential oil content occur one month earlier in Sinai plants than in Negev plants. The essential oil content in the leaves is higher than in the branches and flowers. No differences were found in the relative percentage of the components in the essential oil from different plant parts.Essential oil ofA. judaicaplants from the two regions was of two distinct chemotypes. An artemisyl‐oil type was predominant in the Negev samples, while a piperitone‐oil type was predominant in those collected in southern Sinai. These differences were evident in samples collected in the wild in all seasons, over a period of two years. Seedlings grown in a controlled environment, from seeds collected in the two regions, exhibited the same differences. It is, therefore concluded that these differences reflect genetic differences between the two populati

摘要:
AbstractHydrodistillation of the stem bark ofEnantia chloranthaOliv. and ofXylopia staudtiiEngl.&Diels from Cameroon gave yellowish coloured oils in 0.2% yeild. The composition of the essential oils was determined by mean of capillary gas chromatogrphy and mass spectrometry. The volatile oils from the two species were found to be similar and very complex Oxygenated sesquiterpenes constitute more than 70% of the two samples, among which three epoxides (1,5‐epoxysalvial‐4(14)‐ene, β‐caryophyllene epoxide, humulene epoxide), spathulenol and α‐cadinol are the mos

摘要:
AbstractThe compositon of the essential oil of rhizomes ofKaempferia galangaL. growing in Malaysia has been investigated by capillary GC, GC‐MS and1H‐NMR. The oil contained 54 components, of which the major constituents were ethyltrans‐p‐methoxycinnamate (51.6%), ethyl cinnamate (16.5%), pentadecane (9.0%), 1,8‐cineole (5.7%), γ‐car‐3‐ene (3.3%) and borneol (2.7%). 摘要:
AbstractA large sample of fresh basil,Ocimum basilicumL., was dried at 45°C for 12 hours and stored. After three, six and seven months, qualitative and quantitative analyses of the essential oil were performed by steam distillation and GC‐MS. The principal components found in the essential oils were: methylchavicol, eugenol, linalol and 1,8‐cineole: the content of methylchavicol and eugenol decreased drastically after drying and storage, while that of linalol and 1,8 cineole increased over the same period. The losses of total essential oil after drying were 19%, 62% and 66% at three, six and seven months storage respectively. Several types of reaction seemed to take place during drying and sto

摘要:
AbstractIn Collaboration with the Institut Malgache de Recherches Appliquées, Antananarivo, the composition of the essential oils of medicinal plants indigenous to or cultivated in Madagascar was determined. The aim of the study was the evaluation of these plants for their possible safe use in many products of wide consumption such as foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals or cosmetics.Analyses were performed coupling the data obtained by capillary gas chromatography and1H‐ and13C‐NMR techniques. The13C‐NMR spectroscopy proved to be an important tool, which can be very useful in the identification of main constituents, whereas only partial indications can be obtained for minor components. The results of the analyses of the essential oils of commercial plants (Cinnamomum camphoraNees and Eberm.,Cinnamomum zeylanicumBreyn.,Eucalyptus citriodoraHook,Eucalyptus globulusLabill., Eucalyptus spp.,Melaleuca viridifloraSoland. ex Gaertn.,Ocimum gratissmiumL.) and endemic species (i.e.,Helichrysum gymnocephalumHumbert,Priadia goyaviaBerger,Ravensara anisataDanguy and Choux) are reported. Some antibacterial activities againstEscherichia coliof the essential oils are also re

摘要:
AbstractPhenolic 2‐methylbutanoates are known to be characteristic components of various essential oils, but their optical purity is not known. Enantiomeric pseudoisoeugenyl 2‐methylbutanoates have been synthesized and their sensory properties are found to depend on the optical and geometrical isomerism of the components investigated. Furthermore, (S)‐2‐methylbutanoates have been detected as the genuine esters fromPimpinella anisum(L.),Arnica(unknown splecies) andPimpinella saxifraga(L.), using ester hydrolysis and subsequent enantioselective MDGC analysis of the corresponding 2‐methylbuta

摘要:
Abstract(S)(+)‐Carvone with high enantiomeric purity was detected in the seed and herb oils of caraway and dill. High enantiometic purity of (R)(‐)‐carvone was detected in the oils of spearmint from various sources. Direct enantiomer separation of carvone from essential oils and synthetic samples was performed using Lipodex E as a chiral y‐ cyclodextrin stationar
