摘要:
A novel process for manufacturing dimethyl ether (DME) from CO-rich syngas in a single stage has been developed. This novel approach was based on the application of dual catalysis in the liquid phase process, in which two functionally different catalysts are slurried in the inert mineral oil. The experimental reaction rate studies for methanol and dimethyl ether synthesis were conducted in a three-phase, mechanically agitated slurry reactor. The effects of catalyst ratio, temperature, and pressure on the dual catalytic activity were studied. The experimental data bear additional significance because this is the first study of such kind to be conducted on the liquid phase methanol synthesis process.

The residual asphalts obtained from three Nigerian medium crudes were chemically treated with elemental sulfur at 210 to 250°C. The course of the reaction was followed by monitoring the growth of the asphaltene content of the products. The sulfurization reaction led to 5- to 10-fold increases in the asphaltene content of the products. The asphaltene content of one of the samples initially increased with temperature from 210 to 240°C and then dropped sharply. The results obtained revealed that the optimum temperature of the sulfurization reaction was 240°C. It was also observed that the lower the asphaltene content of the untreated asphalt, the higher the growth of the asphaltene content of the product at the same reaction temperature. The absolute viscosity of the sulfurized asphalts increased rapidly with increasing temperature of reaction.

The mass transfer characteristics of the liquid phase methanol synthesis process were experimentally investigated using a one-liter, mechanically agitated slurry reactor. The CuO/ZnO/Al2O3catalyst was crushed to -140 mesh and suspended in an inert mineral oil (Witco # 40). The catalyst loading was varied within limits of experimental feasibility. Biomarker hydrocarbons, such as C16-C31 n-alkanes, C19, C20, C22 isoprenoids, C14-C26 dicyclic and tricyclic terpanes, C27-C33 pentacyclic triterpanes, C27-C29 n-steranes, rearranged steranes and C19-norpregnane, have been identified as being present in Fu-shun Bituminous Coal by GC/MS. The carbon distribution of these biomarker hydrocarbons and the ratio of steranes and terpanes with different stereo-configuration show that although metamorphism of Fu-shun bituminous coal has progressed to higher rank coalification stage, it is still a relatively young bituminous coal. Moreover, it has amounts of resin and is a humus continental deposit formed by higher plants, which is consistent with the results obtained by routine coal analysis and coal petrography. This method of organic geochemical analysis provides significant information about coal genesis, coal maturation and its depositional environment.

Eight Canadian coal samples were subjected to supercritical toluene extraction at 653°K and 20 MPa. The relationship between the chemical composition and the reactivity of coal, in terms of conversion to tars and gases were studied using a multivariate analysis method in order to establish the relative importance of the chemical constituents. An empirical model which predicts the conversion of coal with good accuracy was developed. The variation of coal conversion with chemical composition was investigated using a three dimensional response surface methodology. The results show that the hydrogen and sulfur content of coal have the most significant influence on conversion. Increasing amounts of these two chemical constituents in coal leads to an almost linear increase in conversion, whereas higher contents of oxygen, fixed carbon and ash were found to be deleterious to coal conversion.
