摘要:
This report presents results obtained from an experimental investigation on the effect of the size of coal particles on γ-ray density meter accuracy. The experimental set up used consisted of a γ-ray density meter, a stirrer and Hewlett Packard data acquisition system. Results obtained for particle size ranges 100 × 140 and 60 × 100 at 1%, 3%, 10%, 15% and 20% solids by weight, showed that meter response is strongly dependent on the size of the coal particles.

摘要:
In the present study IR spectrometric analysis was used to determine clear research octane number, heat of formation, specific gravity and mole fraction of methyl group, simultaneously in hydrocarbon mixtures. IR absorption spectrum can be used to provide information, that can be obtained by several existing test methods.

Products from liquefaction of Highvale Coal (Alberta. subbituminous) in anthracene oil and recycled product, with iron oxide catalyst, were studied using a structural group analysis method. The various functional groups were determined using a combination of proton NMR. carbon-13 NMR. IR. elemental analysis and nitrogen titration analysis. The liquefaction reactions in anthracene oil and in recycled product oil were compared on the basis of three solvent quality Indices and the predominant structural groups in the resulting liquids. The results show that major structural changes occur at both stages of liquefaction. Processing in anthracene oil showed much greater structural changes than liquefaction in the recycled product. The structural profiles Indicated a reduction in aromatic structures and a dramatic increase in aliphatic and naphthenic structures during processing in anthracene oil. These changes were attributed to the hydrogenation of aromatic structures and the dissolution of aliphatic and naphthenic compounds. Liquefaction in recycled product showed less significant changes in structural composition but resulted in a better quality product in terms of the amount of distillable oils, transferable protons and hydrogen to carbon ratio. This improvement was attributed to the improved availability of donatable hydrogen in the recycled product.

摘要:
A simple procedure is described for separation of aromatic hydrocarbons into mono-, di- and trinuclear types in Iraqi gas oil. This is accomplished by elution through an alumina adsorption column under standardized conditions. Characterization is performed by UV-absorption and ratio matching method. The method can be used also for investigating aromatic hydrocarbon structures of other petroleum fractions.

In order to examine the hydroliquefaction behaviour of Chinese lignites a series of bench scale experiments with four lignites, obtained from Inner Mongolia and province Yunnan, in comparison with three foreign lignites or brown coals were performed under three sets of constant reaction conditions. The results show that Chinese lignites in general are comparable with other lignites and conversion can be precaculatad from analytical data with reasonable accuracy. The H/C-ratio of the organic coal matter is an appropriate characterization parameter for the evaluation of the hydroliquefaction behaviour of lignites. Chinese lignites Shengli and Xun-dian reveal higher hydrogenation reactivity than the other five lignite samples. Under conditions used a maximum conversion of more than 80% with oil yields of 60% are obtained. The influence of temperature, H-transfer potential, catalyst and residence time on the product distribution were also investigated in detail. Each lignite has specific sensivities for these factors. The experimental results provide interesting informations for a perspective on hydroliquefaction of these lignites.
