摘要:
The Panero crude oil from the Badin block of Sind Province in Pakistan was separated into four fractions, i.e., naphtha, kerosine, diesel oil and the residue. Each fraction has been characterized by FT-Infrared and 1H n.m.r. spectroscopy. The infrared spectroscopy has provided important insight into the functional groups present in each fraction, while the1H n.m.r. data was used to obtain average structural parameters.

摘要:
The critical properties (Tc, Pc, Vc) of 102 virgin oil fractions from five Chinese crude oils were measured by sealed tube method and semi-sealed tube method using gallium as pressure transfer medium. Satisfactory correlations for predicting critical parameter with other easy-measured physical properties were measured. The feasibility of group contribution method for predicting critical parameters of the above mentioned oil fractions were also investigated.

摘要:
The proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance characteristics of the native Whiterocks bitumen were determined by comparing the spectra of the samples to literature assignments. The tentative structural assignments of pyrolysis products were also obtained from the spectra of Curie-point low voltage mass spectrometric analysis. The results obtained from proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance and pyrolysis-mass spectrometry analysis suggested that the native bitumen consists mostly of short- and long-chain (i.e., normal and isoprenoid chains) alkylsubstituents attached to polycyclic naphthenic, naphtheno-aromatic and/or aromatic moieties.

摘要:
The Reactivity of corn cob char in CO2has been studied on a thermogravimetric balance to develop a rate equation for the design of biomass gasifiers operating on corn cob char. Experiments in the range of 650-1000°C were conducted with cylindrical shaped pellets of 1 cm diameter having L/D=l. The average porosity of the pellets was 0.5. It was observed that the rate of the CO2/char reaction decreased with increase in temperature from 650-750°C and then increased with temperature upto 1000°C.

摘要:
The liquid phase methanol (LPMeOHTM) synthesis process is to be commercially carried out in a liquid entrained reactor (LER), where the catalyst-inert oil slurry is pumped through the reaction zone along with the syngas fed separately. A computer model was developed based on the experimental results, for the LPMeOHTMprocess in a liquid entrained reactor. This computer program accurately predicts the multicomponent phase equilibria, ultimate chemical equilibria and the compositions of each reactant and product species exiting in the entrained reactor. The prediction of the results of this modeling agrees well with the experimental data from the LaPorte pilot plant entrained reactor.

Instability in middle distillate fuels continues to be a problem. Instability is usually defined in terms of sediment formation and increases in peroxide species. There is a growing body of evidence that heteroatomic species, organo-sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen compounds are intimately involved in this deposition process. This is a two part review of the recent literature on middle distillate fuel instability as related to these heteroatomic species.
