摘要:
AbstractAn SRM model based on Froelich's equation has been used to ac-curately predict the cliaracteristics of flux-linkage against current for various angles. The mathematical model coefficients are computed using the flux-linkage versus current at various angles data for various air gap geometric proportions. The experimental data of flux-linkage cliaracteristics for various values of tooth width/pitch (t/T) and pitch/gap width (T/g) ratios are compared. The model proves to be useful for computer-aided design analysis of SRMs.

摘要:
AbstractTransmission gates are used extensively in CMOS VLSI circuits. However, very few delay models have been developed for transmission gates or transmission-gate-based circuits. Accurate delay models are presented in this paper and compared with delays obtained from SPICE simulations. These delay models are based on analytical expressions for the output voltage of the transmission-gate-based circuits in various regions of operation obtained from the mode of operation of MOS transistors that make up the circuit. The model-based output propagation delays and transition times are within 10% of SPICE-aimuIation-based delays for various capacitive loads and input transition times.

摘要:
AbstractTwo auto-tuning controllers, one based on correlation identification technique and the other on process reaction curve method, are proposed and compared. The underlying controller is a predictive PI controller, wliich is an enhanced PI controller. For correlation technique, an online algorithm is developed for identifying the impulse response and hence determining the open-loop step response. For process reaction curve method, an online procedure is used to obtain a first-order-with-tiine-delay approximation to multistaged higher-order systems. Based on the information obtained, the parameters of the controller are updated. Simulation studies compare the per-formance of each algorithm in the presence of noise and time-varying systems.

摘要:
AbstractIn this paper, the problems arising in modelling digital gray-level images for noiseless compression are discussed. An alphabet reduction model for compressing gray-level images using arithmetic coding is proposed. The byte image source is divided into eight bitplanes. For each bitplane, a finite state macliine model is generated. The results are compared to traditional compression methods. The proposed algorithm improves the coding efficiency with lower complexity

摘要:
AbstractThis paper presents a simple method for minimum structured process modelling via a rule-based technique. Under the assumption that the processes are stable, step input signals are applied and step responses data are collected. Six different types of minimum structured models are then defined. They are Monotone Response (MR), Undershoot Monotone Response (UMR), Oscillatory Response (OR), Undershoot Oscillatory Response (UOR), Odd Undershoot Monotone Response (OUMR), and Odd Undershoot Oscillatory Response (OUOR). A classifier is built which, for a given step response, generates the information about the type of response. A proposed minimum structured model is then obtained. Different minimum structured models are used to achieve the initial fitting for the given response. This leads to the rough tuning of model parameters. Finally, a rule-based fine tuner is constructed and used to find out the accurate parameters of the proposed model. Desirable results are obtained when the method is applied to the modelling of the macliine direction weight profile in a^paper-making process and the speed control system of a hydraulic turbine generator.

摘要:
AbstractTliis work considers the problem of calculating the average distance between two points moving on a directed graph whose arcs are straight line segments. The points are supposed to move independently from each other according to a stationary stochastic model. The average and variance of the distance between the points are determined by the graph geometry and the mobility parameters.
