AbstractNew polycrystalline specimens of the ferrites Mg1.5Fe1Si0.5O4, Mg1.5Fe1Ge0.5O4, Mg1.5Fe1Ti0.5O4and Mg1.66Fe1Sb0.33O4have been prepared and studied by nuclear gamma ray resonance technique, over a wide temperature range. All samples are monophasic spinel type ferrite with cubic symmetry. Mössbauer effect spectra of the composition containing Si4+or Ge4+show magnetic hyperfine splitting at room temperature, and Néel transition points are found around 750 and 570 K for the two compounds respectively. The spectrum of Mg1.5Fe1Ti0.5O4is paramagnetic at 300 K while at 78 K shows a superposition of a broad six lines pattern and a central quadrupole doublet. The sample with pentavalent antimony exhibits a strong ferromagnetic relaxation at 78 K where it shows six broad lines with enhancement of the two inner lines as the temperature is risen. AbstractCalculated and experimental results for the neutron spectra at different radii in a graphite sphere irradiated with 14.1 MeV neutrons were shown to be in satisfactory agreement over the energy range 14.1 to 1.8 MeV neutrons. A group of curves were constructed which gives the radius of a graphite sphere shield required to attenuate the neutron intensity to a certain value. AbstractCosmic ray ground observations are used together with the method of coupling coefficients to determine, by spectrographic method, the features of the variational primary energy spectrum of diurnal and eleven‐year variations of neutron component of cosmic rays. It is found that the variational energy spectrum responsible for both types of variations can be best described by a constant spectrum up to an upper effective rigidity boundary. The upper cut‐off effective rigidity boundary for the variational energy spectrum of diurnal variation was found to change from 105 GV at maximum solar activity to 15.85 GV at minimum solar activity. For Eleven‐year variation,Rmaxwas found to have a value of about 20 GV which changes slighly with solar activity due to the change of the coupling coefficients with solar act
