AbstractIt is explained, that the basic notion for a geometric picture of continuum mechanics is a four dimensional material manifold. The four dimensional mechanical affinity is then the unified field for any defect distribution in the general time dependent case. The minimal number of geometric relations being valid for any continuum is formulated as a set of pure affine relations. The state variables of the theory are additional tensor fields as e.g. deformation defining a metric. A material with a well defined deformation has a Newton‐Cartan structure. Only if defects are included into the dynamical determination by additional equilibrium conditions, the theory has a pseudo relativistic structur

AbstractThe Einstein‐Podolsky‐Rosen “gedanken‐experiment” does not imply non‐local interactions or an “action‐at‐a‐distance”.Contrary, the EPR proves the measurements at one particle does not have influences at canonical variables of the other particles if the quantum‐mechanical commutation relations are true.But, the EPR implices correlations between the particles which come in by “subjective knowledge”. These correlations are a priori informations about the relative motion or, complementarily, about the motion of the center of mass. The impression of an action‐at‐a‐distance is produced by the use of usual particle coordinates in the EPR‐arrangements.The discussion of the Einstein‐Podolsky‐Rosen “gedanken‐experiment” (EPR) has been going on over fifty years. EINSTEIN, PODOLSKY, and ROSENformulated their famous paradox in 1935, and in the discussion between N. BOHR(1935, 1949) and A. EINSTEIN(1936, 1948); A. EINSTEIN(1948) made his point that the EPR implied an “action‐at‐a‐distance” for quantum‐mechanical particles (without obvious classical interactions). AbstractUsing Lehmberg's master equation and taking into account dipole‐dipole near‐field interaction the time‐dependent intensity pattern, intensity – and angular correlations of the cooperative spontaneous radiation from an initially fully excited system of three identical two‐level atoms are calculated. The intensity pattern developes lobes in different directions at different times in such a way that contrary to the two‐atom system the spatial distribution of the total number of the emitted photons differs from that of the single‐atom radiation pattern. In particular three atoms placed in proper distances on a straight line emit preferentially their energy along this line. At the beginning of the emission process the probability to find two photons simultaneously in the same (or geometrical equivalent) direction is always highest but in the course of time, contrary to the two‐atom case, it may well happen that the probability of finding two photons in quite different directions become

AbstractA master equation is derived to describe the kinetics of the phase transition from the liquid to the perfect f.c.c. crystalline state, and a straightforward calculation of the kinetic coefficient in terms of microscopie parameters is given for one‐component Lennard‐Jones systems just above the triple point. The considerations are based on an effective lattice model description of the interface structure and the calculation of elementary transition probabilities starting from the molecular theory of thermal equilibrium which is given in earlier papers, extending these results to non‐equilibrium by the local equilibrium principle. The calculated crystal growth velocity versus supercooling is about 10−3m/sK which agrees with experimental data for some organic substances, but it is to small by a factor 101to 102for metals, probably for reasons of a rapid growth velocity enhancement due to an increasing defect density under a strong supercooling regime of 10–100 K, as
