摘要:
A general method is reported for measurement of the complex reflection and transmission coefficients of a two-port device by connecting it between a reflectometer and a sequentially mismatched detector. The coefficients are determined from the ratios of outputs from two power sensors to that of a third, so that the method may be of use for adapting a scalar network analyser for measuring complex quantities. Experimental results from a waveguide WG22 implementation are described.

摘要:
This paper presents the use of the integral operator formulation approach to wave propagation in uniform hollow conducting waveguides of arbitrary cross-section. Cutoff wavenumbers, wall currents, and modal field distributions are obtained from the considered formulations using the method of moments. Waveguides with simply or multiply connected cross-sections and any shape of boundary including the septums can be accepted, and treatments of septums on both TM and TE modes are discussed. User-oriented computer programs based on the proposed methods are available. Illustrative computation for the circular waveguide are compared to exact solutions to validate the accuracy of the solutions. Examples are also included for the circular with septum, the coaxial cable, and the quadridge waveguide.

摘要:
The propagation characteristics of magnetostatic waves (MSW) in iron films are studied in detail. These films may be grown using MBE (molecular beam epitaxy), evaporation, sputtering or other methods. Calculated results show that by using very thin iron films the propagation losses due to conductivity of the iron film may be overcome, but the magnetic loss is rather high. A simplified method of calculation is introduced and discussed.
