we prove the following theorem for characteristic functions, which is an extension of theorems of Marcinkiew and Luckas: let P be a polynomial of degree m and let exp i(z) denote the l-times iteratd exponential function. Assume futher g(z) is an entire function with the property(here M(r,g) denotes the usual maximum modulus of the entire function g). Ifis characteristic function, thenm≤2 holds.

We will provide a counterexample to a theorem of M. Marden in his book Geometry of Polynomials, Math Surveys, No. 3, A.M.S. 1966, pages 68-71 and then prove it in a correct form. We will also indicate how to get other similar results.

We consider a system of formally hyperbolic linear partial differential equations in two complex variables with analytic coefficients. For the representation of solutions of this system we use integral operators of Bergman type that transform analytic functions of a complex variable into solutions. The integral operators are defied and conditions are investigated under which such operators exist. In particular for some special systems integral operators are given explicitly as examples.

In this paper the Riemann conjugation problem for general systems of two first order linear and quasilinear equations in the plane is considered. The approach uses singular integral equations in the plane with discontinuous coefficients. In the general linear case the main theorem asserts a very sharp result as in the classical analytical case.

摘要:

Motivated by linear transformations of solutions of formally hyperbolic equations, we derive conditions for such transformations which are generated by differential operators of first order. Further we obtain a complete characterization of a class of nonlinear transformations.
