Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of canonical generalized factorizations are given for a class of non-rational 2×2 matrix-valued functions. Explicit formulas for the factors are derived. The class considered is related to a class studied by Rawlins and Williams from the point of view of function-theoretic factorization. The method of analysis followed in the paper involves solving a certain non-linear singular integral equation. An example is included.

We consider in this paper a certain class of non-linear Stokes boundary value problems of a fluid with variable viscosity and density. The aid of methods of a special hypercomplex function theory is presented in detail in [1]. There we have considered the questions of existence and uniqueness, a-priori estimate and a lower bound of the spectrum.

We get a simple and direct proof of the following known result. Letf(z)-eαz2g(z) where α← 0 andgis a real entire function of genus at most one. Iffhas only a finite number of nonreal zeros, then its derivatives, from a certain one onward, have only real zeros.

In this paper we prove that the Berezin transform is of type of weak (1,1) and bounded on the Orlicz spaceLφ(D,dA) if its Young function φ satisfies the-condition. Also we show that the dual of the Bergman spaceis the Besov spaceand its predual is the little Besov spaceif the Young function φ satisfies the Δ2-condition (here φ and ψ are a pair of complementary Young functions).

Let A denote the MacLane Class, that is, the class of (nonconstant) analytic functions on the unit disk D having asymptotic limits in a dense subset of the unit circle T. Of central interest here are three desirable properties that a functionfεAmay possess:fhas angular limits in a metrically dense subset of Tfobeys a certain maximum principle, and the components of {|f|>λ} are Jordan regions for each λε(inf|f|,sup|f|). It is known, for example, that iffεAandfhas no infinite asymptotic values, then all of these properties hold. In this note we consider various subclasses ofAand give less restrictive conditions which guarantee that the properties are valid. In particular, we show that for the classNof normal functions, relatively weak radial conditions are sufficient.

In what follows we consider the extremal problem of maximizing the fourth coefficient inCR, the normalized close-to-convex class of functions defined on the unit diskD, under the constraint where the second coefficient is kept fixed. This in turn is applied to show that the modified Hadamard product of two functions inCRis not a closed operation.
