SummaryTwo cases of cold hemagglutinin syndrome associated with neurological manifestations were reported. One was a 52‐year‐old woman with acute hemolytic anemia which developed following grippe. Cold hemagglutinin titer was elevated to 1:1,024. Neurological manifestations were apathy, confusion, auditory hallucination and EEG abnormality. Steroid administration cleared these neurological abnormalities and EEG was reverted to normal. The other was a 77‐year‐old man with chronic hemolytic anemia. Cold hemagglutinin titer was extraordinarily elevated (1:32,768, 1:524,‐288). Neurological abnormalities were almost confined to the cerebellar system. Hormonal therapy was completely unrewarding and the patient was incapacitated from his daily activity. From the literature some of the reported cases of hemolytic anemia associated with neurological abnormalities, particularly in reference to cold hemagglutinin syndrome, were briefly described. The present authors consider 2 reported cases fall in the category of “Syndromes neuro‐hémolytiques”

SummaryConverting the patterns of the Somatosensory Evoked Response (SER) recorded from 29 schizophrenic adult inpatients, 12 males and 17 females, into the series of integers, the sexual differences in SER were studied by means of off‐line computation.1) IIA‐SER Patterns (Inter‐Individual Average Somatosensory Evoked Response Patterns)were shown with 29 subjects in all, with 12 males, and with 17 females.2) Marked differences between theIIA‐SER Patternsof males and of females were found. The latencies of P1, N2, P2, Pa and N4were longer, but that of N3was shorter inIIA‐SER Patternof males than in that of females. Most of the amplitudes between the given pairs of the components were higher in theIIA‐SER Patternof females than in that of males. The vertical difference between bothIIA‐SER Patternsattained the maximum at 116 msec in latency.3) Studying the heights of each individual SER patterns at 116 msec in latency, the sex of the subjects was discriminated correctly at the rate of 72%.4) Adopting theDiscriminant Functionproposed in the present study, the sex of the subjects was discriminated correctly by their SER patter

SummaryA case has been presented in which EEG desynchronization in deep coma followed lesions of the middle pontine structures. The involvement of the middle pontine structures was confirMed by the pathological findings. The authors conclude therefore that the middle pontine structures have the neuronal functions of influencing cortical potentials and inducing EEG desynchronization.
