摘要:
knowing there are hazards in the immediate postoperative period, the nurse who assumes the postanesthesia responsibility for patient care must be familiar with causes, assessment techniques, nursing interventions, and rationale to prevent or alleviate potential complications, which can occur so readily and unexpectedly. This two‐part article reviews common postoperative problems of the respira tory, circulatory, and metabolic systems. The patient's safety and emotional conditions are also discussed. Signs and symptoms of problems and suggested nursing actions are outlined. The article is intended as a concise, comprehensive review and ready reference for nurses, especially those who work in postanesthesia recovery units. It should also be helpful to those who are preparing to take certification examinations.
