摘要:
Laboratory measurements of Kr and Xe adsorption on samples of ground montmorillonite, limonite and basalt at −77°C have been performed. Results suggest that 1) most degassed martian Xe could be adsorbed on a regolith with a large effective surface area, and 2) if this is the case the elemental composition of martian nonradiogenic rare gas (counting that in the regolith) may be virtually identical to that of ordinary chondrit

摘要:
Published reports permit the reconstruction of the Mars 3 trajectory on which the discovery of the Martian magnetic field by Dolginov and co‐workers is based. Use of this trajectory to transform the original measurements and display them in geophysically oriented coordinate systems leads to the conclusion that the observed magnetic field was draped over the Martian obstacle as expected if the field were simply shocked and compressed solar wind magnetic field. There is no conclusive evidence that Mars 3 ever entered a Martian magnetospher

摘要:
The putative magnetotail encounters of the Mars 5 spacecraft cannot be scaled to the terrestrial magnetopause. Furthermore, the magnetic field during these claimed magnetotail encounters tends to be wrapped around the planet rather than rooted in it. There is no conclusive evidence that the Mars 5 spacecraft ever entered a Martian magnetosphere. The upper limit to the Martian magnetic moment is estimated to be 2×1021Gauss‐cm³, or 2.5×10−5of the terrestrial magnetic

摘要:
Recently the existence of an intrinsic field of Mars has been questioned. In this note we review the evidence from Mars 2 and 3 from which our original conclusion of a Martian magnetic field was deduced and reaffirm our original conclusions.

摘要:
The measurements obtained by Mars 5 reaffirm the conclusion of an intrinsic Martian magnetic field based on the Mars 2 and 3 data. The bow shock positions are equivalent to those observed on the earlier missions. Furthermore, a magnetotail is observed whose direction is independent of interplanetary sector structure.
