摘要:
This paper reviews the main features, goals, and achievements of a field of research that is now commonly referred to as ‘Chemical Dynamics’. This is neither ‘Molecular Dynamics’, nor ‘Chemical Kinetics’, in the traditional sense, but rather, the study of the universal properties of time evolution and/or spatial structure of chemical systems evolving far from equilibrium.

摘要:
The development of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy for the study of the nature of chemisorbed species and the mechanisms of surface reactions is described. The methodology of data analysis and the establishment of data banks which enable photoelectron spectra to be assigned to specific surface species is discussed by reference to examples from recent studies.
