摘要:
The design of a multivariable (multi-input/multi-output) control system or a multiport network often results in a multivariable compensator or a multiport filter which is described by a transfer-function matrix or a matrix transfer function. A state-space approach is presented to synthesise the matrix transfer function, usingRCladders and summers but not using integrators and multiwinding transformers. The Cauer I typeRCladder network is utilised to construct accessible states at which the feedback and feedforward gains can be practically implemented. A new similarity transformation matrix is derived to transform a state-space equation in a block companion form to a state-space equation in a block tridiagonal form.

摘要:
An expression is derived for the con.putation of the time average of a functionf(t). Based on this expression, a principle is discussed realising continuous computation of the time average of the input signal. Some practical circuits are discussed. These circuits offer several advantages over classical solutions.

摘要:
A systematic approach is given for generating 2nd-orderRC-oscillators using two resistors, two capacitors and a single finite-gain 3-terminal 2-port (3-T 2-port) controlled source (CS). The approach views the oscillators as made up of two parts, a frequency selectiveRC-network and a frequency independent finite gain CS. A set of 16 oscillators is derived which is verified to be topologically complete, i.e. no additional oscillator circuit can be generated with two resistors, two capactitors and a single 3-T CS.

摘要:
A technique is presented for evaluating the sensitivity of parameters of the transfer functions of 2nd-order digital resonators to their coefficients. Sensitivity functions are evaluated for the canonicalZ-domain form. Then it is shown how these functions can be extended quite conveniently for other 2nd-order digital filter structures.

摘要:
The paper deals with an important classification of linear reciprocal passive systems. Inductive and capacitive accretive operators are defined. They represent the most natural generalisation of the familiarRLandRCnetworks. A central theorem suggests how to generate inductive or capacitive operators from familiarRLandRCnetworks.

摘要:
A new variable equaliser is proposed, based on Bode's classical variable equaliser transfer function. The advantages of the new circuit are that it uses a single variable resistor to produce the required range of variation, it contains only a single operational amplifier; and, since the output terminal of the circuit coincides with the output terminal of the amplifier, the circuit is suitable for direct cascade connection without buffer amplifiers. Application of the inverse active transformation to the proposed circuit leads to another new variable equaliser circuit. Laboratory models of both networks have been built which realise a ‘fan’ and a ‘bump’ equaliser with a variable loss of ± 10 dB; the measured responses are shown to be in good agreement with those obtained by computer simulation, assuming ideal amplifiers.

摘要:
The design of digital cascade compensators often involves determining the response of a sampled analogue system. The paper presents a technique for evaluating the response at a chosen design point, using the Laplace domain. It is not necessary to transform the system's transfer function into thez-domain to obtain the requirements of the digital cascade compensator. Then methods for selecting and implementing a suitable compensator are proposed.
