摘要:
The paper reports on an investigation into some problems relating to the implementation of subband coding systems using nonrecursive quadrature mirror filters. Particular attention is given to the noise resulting from the use of finite-word-length registers for data storage and arithmetic operations. Formulas for the evaluation of the bounds and variances of the errors due to quantisation of the filter coefficients, roundoff in arithmetic computations and the quantisation for compression encoding are derived. The derivations are based on a statistical model of the noise sources. An extensive simulation has been carried out and the results of the simulation have been found to be in excellent agreement with the theoretically predicted results.

摘要:
A new family of 3-valued CMOS logic circuits that uses 2-power supplies, each below the device threshold voltage, is presented. Circuit design of basic ternary operators (inverter, NAND, NOR) is described. These basic ternary operators can be used as building blocks in 3-valued digital systems.

摘要:
A compensation technique is described, whereby the transfer-function coefficients of a given recursive digital filter can be adjusted by means of an optimisation algorithm, so as to compensate for the amplitude distortion introduced by a D/A convertor. The technique has been used to design a lowpass, a highpass, a bandpass and a bandstop filter. The results show that stable compensated digital filters can be designed which satisfy prescribed specifications.

摘要:
A state-space technique recently developed for the synthesis of optimum integrator sensitivity active filters [2, 3] is extended to further optimise the active-RCbiquads. It is found that the optimum sensitivity active biquad, which, having an asymmetric normal system matrix, has optimally distributed sensitivity both to the coefficient of the integrators, as well as to the effect of the finite gain/bandwidth product of the op amps. The normal integrator loop thus has two leaky integrators with equal damping coefficients and equal gains. The normal loop, however, can provide only the lowpass characteristic at the output of either integrator. Any other output characteristic with optimum sensitivity can only be obtained using nonzero output feed-forward coefficientsc1andc2.

摘要:
A semi-indefinite network is any network in which the admittance matrix has only the row entries or only the column entries summing to zero. As a result of this property, the port currents of a semi-indefinite network form a dependent set given certain restrictions. Semi-indefinite networks are used in a general network structure for the simulation of floating immittances. A method is given for the transformation of networks which simulate grounded immittances to networks which simulate floating immittances.

摘要:
A useful theorem is derived for associating a more general PRF impedanceZ(s) with any givenRL—RCfunctionz(s). The theorem indicates a functional relation between inductive/capacitive systems and the more general class ofRLC.Z(s) =z(1)−z(s) 2s1 / 1–s1 +s z'(1)This relation, which is a functional tie rather than a frequency transformation, consolidates the binding relationship between PRF and its two important subclasses.

摘要:
The use of the finite-element method to determine the transient response of nonuniform distributedRCnetworks is described. The method is compared with other available techniques and the relationship between the accuracy of solution and the element size and time step investigated. These results are then used to obtain the transient response of some exponentially and linearly tapered distributedRCstructures.
