摘要:
Quaternary amines are unique in their ability to extract metal cyanides from highly alkaline solutions. Zinc cyanide extracts essentially quantitatively at both the subnanogram and macro levels. Regeneration of the amine solvent is achieved by stripping the zinc with sodium hydroxide, sodium hypochlorite, or alkaline or acidic formaldehyde solutions. Because they readily extract free cyanide as well as anionic metal cyano complexes, the high-molecular-weight quaternary amines show considerable promise for industrial pollution abatement applications.

摘要:
New solvent extraction systems have been developed for the extraction of zinc and cadmium from aqueous chloride solution using Aliquat 336-S dissolved in the nonpolar solvents heavy aromatic naphtha and xylene as the extractant. Moderately high concentrations of the metalions (1 mg/ml zinc and 2 mg/ml Cd) can be extracted quantitatively from acid solutions with an equal volume of 5% Aliquat 336-S solution in 15 sec. Both zinc and cadmium can be stripped from the organic phase with a series of aqueous stripping solutions. When comparing zinc and cadmium, cadmium is the easier to extract and the more difficult to strip under the same experimental conditions.

摘要:
Extraction of vanadium(V) from acidic sulfate solutions by a mixture of tri-n-octylamine and tributylphosphate (used as modifier) dissolved in kerosene has been studied. The distribution coefficient of vanadium(V) increases with an increase in pH and vanadium(V) concentration. The presence of iron(III) in aqueous solution does not have any appreciable effect, while large amounts of sulfate ion depress the distribution coefficient. Uranium(VI) has a distribution different from vanadium(V). Based upon these results, a scheme for the separation of vanadium(V) from uranium leach liquors has been made and checked experimentally.
