摘要:
AbstractOnce a data base that appears suitable is located, considerable work must still be done to make it ready for analysis. In particular, one must learn as much as possible about the data elements. To illustrate the importance of this point, the HEGIS data base and its uses are discussed in detail.

摘要:
AbstractThis case study describes how path analysis and causal modeling were used to assess the impact of federal R&D spending on Ph.D. production at leading research universities. The data base was constructed by integrating five years of data from seven different surveys into a single data base.
