摘要:
The main points and the main conclusions of a workshop held June 27–30 1983 at Interlaken, Switzerland, are reported. There was general agreement among the participants that ideal simulation, providing unambiguous information about the behaviour of the first wall material, is at present out of reach. In this situation the route to follow is to use the existing simulation facilities in a concerted effort to understand the damage accumulation processes and thereby create the background for prediction or appropriate simulation of the behaviour of the first wall material.

摘要:
Diamond powder and monocrystals were bombarded with 72 MeV carbon ions. The photographs in reflected and transmitted light revealed a layer with a thickness estimated as 7 ±2 μm, where the bombarding ions stopped, as well as a layer with a thickness of about 70 μm, where, due to accidental channelling, some ions had penetrated further into the specimens. The contribution of interstitial atoms to expansion of the diamond crystal lattice was estimated as 1.16±0.30.

摘要:
Theoretical and experimental research on the motion and radiation of charged particles in a crystal attracts at present growing scientific attention .1 The existence of a high-frequency radiation from a crystal predicted by M. A. Kumakhov4 has been confirmed by a recent Soviet-American experiment .2,3 However, even though qualitative agreement with the theoretical predictions has been proved, a complementary analysis of the motion and radiation of relativistic particles seems to be necessary. In Ref. 5 the equations of motion are found assuming that a particle does possess relativistic longitudinal and nonrelativistic transversal energies. In Refs. 6, 7 the radiation intensity is studied by quantum mechanics methods.

摘要:
The cross sections for the stopping of 80-500 keV protons in InP, GaP, and ZnSiP2 have been determined from the backscattering spectra. Using the additivity rule for stopping powers, we have found, from the cross sections obtained, the proton stopping cross sections in phosphorus. Possible corrections to the additivity rule are discussed. A method for their estimation is proposed.

摘要:
Some simplified models are used to computer-calculate the parameters of Cu single crystal sputtering by 1 keV Ar ions. Each of the models is a confined structure of a perfect single crystal with various numbers of atoms (from 2 to 34). The sputtering yields, the energy spectra and spatial distributions of sputtered atoms are calculated at various energies of bombarding ions.

摘要:
Pre-neutron irradiation affects the γ-response of soda-lime silica glass measured optically. This effect was found to be higher at lower neutron fluences, decreasing for increasing neutron fluence and reaching values similar to that for pure γ-irradiation.

摘要:
Lexan polycarbonate and Mylar plastic track detectors exposed to different ions have been obtained from JINR, Dubna, USSR. The bulk etch rate,Vb, and track etch rate,Vt, have been measured for different temperatures. Theoretical equations are used to compute the ranges of different ions in Lexan and Mylar detectors. The maximum etched track lengths of these ions agree with theoretical ranges to better than 2%. The dependence of track etch rate,Vt, and normalized track etch rate,Vt/Vb, on the energy-loss,dE/dx, of different charged particles is shown for different etching temperatures. The experimental results showing the effect of heat treatment on latent tracks before etching are also presented.

摘要:
A new technique is applied to determine the sites of implanted substitutional impurities in GaAs. Since theZvalues are nearly equal, Ga and As substitutions cannot be distinguished from a measurement of the width of channeling dips, but the asymmetry of a <110> scan in the {110} plane is opposite for backscattering from the two types of atoms, and a comparison with the observed asymmetry for backscattering from the impurity determines the site. As expected, In is found to replace Ga and Sb to replace As. In addition, the preferential site of implanted Sn atoms is shown to be a Ga site. These results confirm earlier assignments based on isomer shifts in Mössbauer experiments.

摘要:
The yields of intermediate molecular weight products (PM = C7 to C11 = middle molecular weight product) have been determined for the radiolysis of 2-methylpentane and 3-methylpentane. A GC/MS system was used for the products identification. The product distribution determined by capillary column gas chromatography (GC2) reflects a marked structural effect in the radiolysis processes. In the solid radiolysis, the results suggest that the PM products do not originate from the combination of fragment and parent radicals. A chemical activation transfer to light olefinic products enclosed in the solid during the radiolysis plays a prominent role in the formation of the PM products.

摘要:
The theory of sputtering of multicomponent homogeneous constant composition materials is based on solution of the Boltzmann equation, taking into account the presence of the sputtered target plane surface and moving atom cascades anisotropy. Obtained results are accurate for both the regime of linear cascades and single-knock-on regime in the case of sputtering by light ions.
