摘要:
The role of interstitials for atomic transport under irradiation is not yet known for most of the concentrated binary and ternary alloys. For a few binary alloys, e.g. CuNi and a-CuZn, interstitialcy mass transport at temperatures around 100 K has been found after MeV electron and fast neutron irradiation at lower temperatures,1–7. In the present study the residual resistivity behaviour of CuNiFe alloys with a Ni content of 48 at.% and different Fe contents between 0 and 8 at.% was investigated upon isochronal annealing after electron irradiation at 77 K and 473 K. The question is studied whether the addition of undersized Fe atoms modifies or even preventsthe interstitialcy mass transport.

摘要:
The angular dependences of the intensity of photon emission of the atoms sputtered from copper crystals under 10–30 keV noble gas ion bombardment at glancing angles are studied experimentally. The dependences obtained are compared with the angular dependences of sputtering yields. The analogies and differences in the angular dependences of the light emission and of sputtering yields are discussed.

摘要:
A mathematical model of displacement spike (DS) type radiation damage dynamics based on shock wave (SW) propagation treated by methods of continuum mechanics is presented. With viscosity, heat conduction, initial approximation, and strength effects accounted for, the numerical integration of the appropriate system of differential equations with an adequate equation of state yields DS parameters in good quantitative agreement with those obtained by field-ion microscopy, some of the measured values being at variance with more conventional theoretical predictions. The residual temperature rise (DS initiated thermal spike), formerly believed of major importance, in the framework of the present model proves negligible. Potential applications of the developed approach to the analysis of some attendant effects are pointed out.

摘要:
In a recent article,1Kobiyama and Takamura have studied the recovery spectra of the h.c.p. metals Cd, Co and Re and of the pseudohexagonal Ga after fission-neutron bombardment at liquid-helium temperatures. Irradiation with fast neutrons can be useful as a comparison to the defect creation by electrons or thermal neutrons because of a somewhat different resulting damage structure and, as such, contribute to the characterization of recovery stages. Thus, the authors have observed dose-dependent annealing stages in the above metals and attributed some of them to interstitial long-range migration, in that confirming what has been known in the literature. Discussing these data in connection with the (c/a)-ratio of the metals and comparing them to others such as Mg the authors state as the main conclusion of their paper: “This result shows that the properties of interstitial can hardly be understood by the (c/a)-ratio.”

摘要:
Nitrogen ion implantations at doses from 1017ions cm−2up to 6 × 1017ions cm−2in pure Al and an Au4G industrial alloy are studied by electron microscopy investigations. In these two materials, we observe the formation of AIN precipitates with an orientation relationship between the two lattices.
