Measurements of the electrical conductivity of 1 T—Ta S2and 2 H—TaS2irradiated with fast neutrons are presented. A recent calculation by one of the authors enables an estimation of the defect production rates in these binary compounds.

摘要:
Effect of the neutron irradiation on the twinning deformation has been studied with unirradiated and irradiated titanium. An optical microscope was used to reveal the deformation modes at different strains and to obtain the twin volume fraction Vt and the twin density Nt as a function of strain. The value of Vt and Nt are larger in the irradiated specimens. A detailed study shows that the nucleation of twins is remarkably enhanced by irradiation, in agreement with the observation by transmission electron microscope. The twins are nearly all of {1012} <1101> system.

摘要:
Results relating to the yield, as a function of distance from the target, of photons from excited atoms sputtered from Li, LiF, and NaCl are considered. By using an observation slit of small opening (0.2 mm), there was sufficient spatial resolving power to obtain realistic decay curves even for short-lived states. These curves should, on the assumption that the sputtered excited atoms have an energy distribution proportional toE−2and an angular distribution which is isotropic, be governed by the relation
