An a-Si:H film uas used as a hydrogen supplier for hydrogen passivation of the states introduced by ion implantation at the SiO2-Si interface. The passivation effect uas observed at annealing temperatures as low as 600 K. The comparison of the calculated quantity of hydrogen atoms reaching the interface shous a good agreement uith the density of passivated states.

Measurements of electrical resistivity after low temperature fast neutron irradiation are made for amorphous Pd80Si20and Pd80Ni2Sl18and then Pd80Si20annealed at 230°C and 360°C, and the isochronal annealing curves are obtained. The resistivity increase of Pd80Si20annealed at 360°C is about 10 times larger than that of amorphous alloys and no defined annealing stage is observed in amorphous alloys and Pd80Si20annealed at 360°C. For amorphous Pd80Si20, about 60% of the resistivity increase by irradiation remains after annealing up to room temperature and these are discussed by the structural relaxation.

It is observed that the intensity of lyoluminescence (LL) (the emission during the dissolution of irradiated crystals) is considerably enhanced in the presence of certain transition metal ions in low concentration, while the LL is quenched due to the presence of certain other transition metal ions. A detailed investigation is carried out to understand the effect of these metal ions and probable mechanisms are proposed.

A new model has been presented for the sputtering of heavy random targets by KeV light-ion, which is free from fitting parameters. The good agreement with experiments suggests that when only primary recoils are taken into account this phenonenon is also described by linear transport theory.

The positron annihilation technique (PAT) was used to study the annealing behaviour of defects prodeuced by 30.0 MeV alpha-irradiation in molybdenum. The small increase in the Doppler broadening lineshape parameter, S, in the temperature region 150–300°C is assigned to the migration of vacancies and the formation of vacancy clusters. In the temperature region 300–750°C S showed a prominent decrease. this later recovery can be seen in two steps, from 300°C to 550°C and from 650°C to 750°C, indicating two different types of defects were present. The first step can be assigned to the agglomeration of vacancy clusters whereas the second step may be due to the thermal coarsening of microvoids or due to He bubble growth.

The effect of three alcohols as representative of ointment and cream components on the radiation sensitivity of anoxicBacillus pumilusspores was determined in order to understand the radiation-induced inactivation of spores when suspended in non-aqueous milieux.Bacillus pumilusspores mounted on aluminium silicate powder were suspended in the appropriate alcohol, deoxygenated and60Co gamma-irradiated. Responses ranged between that for buffered suspensions alone to approximately twice that value. Concentrations of the alcohols in buffer, below their solubility limits, did not produce responses significantly different from that characteristic of anoxic buffer alone.

Experiments on the isothermal decay of the therraoluminescence associated with the main dosimetry peak of CaS04:Dy (TLD-900) dosemeters are described in this paper. The results on the kinetics parameters s (the frequency factor) and b (the order of the kinetics) and a new time dependence study on accidental high dose occurrence are also reported.

We have investigated annealing of ion-implanted GaInAs using transmission electron microscopy. We have found that the best condition for the post-implantation anneals for GalnAs is a 30 second anneal at a temperature of 700–800°C. This produces a material similar in character to the untreated GaInAs. Anneals for longer than 30 seconds produce crystal defects becoming increasingly complex with time for similar temperatures.

The production of track-spots in CR-39 detectors for alpha particles and the subsequent optical counting of the detectors are often influenced by foreign substances deposited on the surface of the detectors. The removal of these substances can be achieved using chemicals for pre-irradiation treatment. Two methods of pre-irradiation treatment were studied in the present experiments. One of them involves the dipping of the detectors in ethanol. In the other method, the detectors were treated in 6N KOH etchant prior to exposure. It was found that prolonged treatment could only produce a reduction in the track density of less than 20%.

摘要:

In this letter, some experimental results of 400 keV proton scattering at grazing angles are reported. Experiments were done on samples of pure polycristalline A1 with scratches at random directions. A good agreement is found when polished sample spectra were fitted with a multiple scattering theory.
