摘要:
The nuclear design of fusion reactor components (e.g., first wall, blanket, shield, magnet, limiter, divertosr, etc.) requires an accurate prediction of the radiation field, the radiation damage parameters, and the activation analysis. The fusion nucleonics for these tasks are reviewed with special attention to point out nuclear data needs and deficiencies which effect the design process. The main areas included in this review are tritium breeding analyses, nuclear heating calculations, radiation damage in reactor components, shield designs, and results of uncertainty analyses as applied to fusion reactor studies. Design choices and reactor parameters that impact the neutronics performance of the blanket are discussed with emphasis on the tritium breeding ratio. Nuclear data required for kerma factors, shielding analysis, and radiation damage are discussed. Improvements in the evaluated data libraries are described to overcome the existing problems.

摘要:
At the Los Alamos Ion Beam Facility we have installed a low-energy fusion cross section (LEFCS) apparatus specifically designed to measure cross sections to high accuracy for the various fusion-energy reactions among the hydrogen isotopes in the bombarding-energy range 10 to 120 keV. To date, we have completed and published our study of the D(t,α)n reaction, have finished data-taking for the D(d,p)T and D(d,3He)n reactions, and have nearly finished data-taking for the T(t,α)nn reaction. Here we describe the LEFCS facility, present final and preliminary results for these reactions, and compare them with R-matrix calculations.

摘要:
Tritium breeding ratios and neutron multiplication factors respectively for lithium and lead assemblies are measured and analysed with evaluated nuclear data, ENDF/B-IV and JENDL-3PR1. Discrepancies between experiments and calculations are explained by analysing uncertainties in nuclear data.

摘要:
An experimental program has been initiated at the Oak Ridge Electron Linear Accelerator (ORELA) to measure yields of individual gamma rays resulting from interactions of 0.2- to 40-MeV neutrons with elements of structural materials of interest both for applied needs and basic research. In this paper we outline this program and present some cross-section results for ″natCr(n,xγ),56Fe(n,xγ) and58Ni(n,xγ). A good estimate of the total inelastic scattering cross section is obtained from the production cross section of the gamma ray corresponding to de-excitation of the first 2+level in the even-even nuclides studied. In addition, cross sections for production of gamma rays resulting from tertiary reactions are measured, thus obtaining scarce cross-section information about these reactions.

摘要:
Neutron elastic and inelastic differential cross sections for targets between9Be and239Pu at energies, E > 14 MeV have been measured using the Livermore and Ohio University neutron time-of-flight facilities. We review here the data and the analyses based on two local microscopic optical potentials from the work of Jeukenne, Lejeune and Mahaux, and of Brieva and Rook. The results are also compared with calculations using global potentials. Coupled channel formalism has been used in the analysis of targets with strong deformations, such as Be, C, Ta, and actinides. The value of the microscopic optical potentials as a tool to predict elastic and inelastic neutron cross sections over a wide mass and energy range is discussed. The need for neutron measurements up to higher energies and their analysis in conjuction with (p,p) and charge exchange (p,n) data is addressed.

摘要:
Helium gas production cross sections for elemental nickel and molybdenum, deduced from the isotopic data, are reported. Cross sections for58Ni (n,d)57Co and10B (n,t)2α reactions were measured. Excitation function of triton emission reaction on aluminium was determined via activation in diverse neutron fields and unfolding code calculations.

摘要:
Two types of benchmarck experiments on Li2O assemblies have been carried out. They were analyzed by using three transport codes with JENDL-3PR1 and ENDF/B-4. The calculation using JENDL-3PR1 predicted tritium production rates of6Li and7Li better than those using ENDF/B-4.

摘要:
Scalar neutron spectrum was measured with a miniature NE213 spectrometer at several positions in graphite, water, lithium fluoride and lithium metal assemblies, which were irradiated with D-T neutrons. The pulse height spectrum was unfolded to an energy spectrum with a modified FERDOR code. The measured spectrum was compared with a calculated spectrum using the MORSE-GG code or ANISN code with the GICXFNS group cross-section set.
