摘要:
The effects of large doses of electrons and alpha particles upon the subsequent etching of fission tracks in biotite mica have been examined. 1 MeV electrons and 40 MeV alpha particles produce enhanced bulk etching of the mica at doses around 108Gy (= 1010rad). Biotite mica can record tracks due to Ne ions; and since the electron doses encountered around the Ne ion path are much lower than those found to produce enhanced etching, it seems unlikely that the etchability of such tracks can be explained in terms of the electron dose deposited by the track-forming ion.

摘要:
Excess noise and specific resistivity of conducting patterns induced in HPR-204 (Hunt's Positive Resist) films by 1.5 MeV argon ion bombardment were investigated. Departure from saturation of the specific resistivity at the highest dose of 1017 cm-2 was observed and a large decrease in excess noise was found when the dose was increased from 1015 to 5 × 1016 cm-2. Deviations from the square-law dependence on current of the excess noise were also observed at low and high doses.

摘要:
An extension is presented to previous calculations of multiple scattering distributions obtained from Mueller's analytic scattering kernel fit corresponding to the Molière potential. In particular, both branches of the fit are used to allow a comparison with measurements on very thin, i.e. low pressure, gas targets. It is concluded that reasonable agreement is found for targets thick enough for Thomas-Fermi scaling to hold, and that accordingly, the Mueller fit provides a fair description even of relatively large impact scattering events.

摘要:
Electrical measurements on CZ–Si samples subjected to heat treatment at 450°C and subsequent gamma-irradiation were carried out over a wide temperature range. It is shown that there is a close correlation between electrical and optical properties of oxygen-related donors formed during heat treatment.

摘要:
Pure Zr and Zr–Sn (0.015 at. % to 2.3 at. % Sn) allOáys were irradiated at 4.6 K to a fast neutron fluence of 2.5 × 1022neutrons m−2and the radiation-induced resistivity was measuredin situas a function of dose. Compared to pure Zr the initial damage rate was higher in Zr—Sn alloys, whereas the saturation resistivity was found to remain almost constant. The samples were subjected to isochronal annealing in the temperature range of 30—509 K and the different recovery stages studied. The addition of tin suppressed the recovery in stage I and stage III.

摘要:
This paper considers several effects which occur as a result of implantation or high energy ion beam irradiation of polymers. Implantation by ion beams of inert gases appears to create occluded gas pressures, conditions inside the polymer which can lead to serious structural changes and unexpected electrical behaviour of the implanted polymer films. These trapped inert gases make the structure of the implanted polymer film very sensitive to temperature treatment.

摘要:
Radioactive atoms of57Co and125mTe implanted in frozen N2, H2O, HC1 and Xe were studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy. Results of57Co in ice show stable arrangements of water molecules around the57Co atom and a rearrangement after the amorphous crystalline phase transitions. Results on N2, HC1 and Xe show the existence of various charge states produced in the decay after-effects and possible formation of an Fe-N molecule.

摘要:
An examination is made of reported experimental and theoretical values of the logarithmic mean excitation energy,l, for the stopping power of molecular hydrogen and of values ofldetermined in this work from various recent experimental values of the stopping cross-section of molecular hydrogen for α-particles and protons of various kinetic energies. Values oflfor molecular hydrogen determined in this work from experimental values of the stopping cross-section reported recently by various investigators give support to a value of over 20 eV forlof molecular hydrogen that was predicted by a recent application of the local plasma model for the determination oflthat took chemical binding into consideration. This value is much higher than all of the previously accepted values oflfor molecular hydrogen.

摘要:
A model for crystal transparency is used to calculate the single-crystal sputtering yields at small sliding angles of ion incidence onto a target. The results of calculating the angular dependences of the (100) copper crystal face sputtering yield under 30 and 15 keV Ar and Ne ion bombardment prove to be in a satisfactory agreement with the available experimental data.
