摘要:
A literature search on ion implantation was performed and a bibliography with annotations of 295 references was compiled to update existing bibliographies. Physical A bstracts and Electrical and Electronics Abstracts of January 1972 to February 1973 were the sources used for this search. For easy access to the references, the bibliography was divided into eleven sections.

摘要:
A method of calculation is presented for the yield of an electron excitation process by a channelled particle in a single encounter with an atomic row or plane in a crystal. It is shown that, if ψ is the initial angle between the ion trajectory and the row or plane, the number of inner-shell electrons excited is an increasing function of ψ whereas the number of outer electrons excited may decrease with increasing ψ.

摘要:
In the cases when primary ion beam direction is aligned with close-packed planes the dependences of the reduced coefficient of ion-electron emission on various angles has been studied. It was found that there are such ranges of azimuthal angle and angle of incidence of primary ion beam within which the reduced coefficient is determined mainly by the angle between the primary ion beam and close-packed plane only.

摘要:
Redistribution of phosphorus dopant in 1N2175 phototransistors damaged by a pulsed neodynium laser has been investigated using the electron microprobe technique. Four different effects observed in the concentration profdes were explained by the action of diffusion and segregation, in the presence of temperature and compositional gradients. One specific effect was analyzed using a simplified model consisting of diffusion in the melt followed by the segregation upon refreezing. It was estimated that certain areas of the phototransistor surface remained above the melting point for times of the order of 10−4sec. Correlation was made between the results of these microprobe measurements and previously observed laser-damage effects in the electrical characteristics. It is suggested that impurity migration may be an important mechanism for damage to junction devices by pulsed lasers in an intermediate energy range.

摘要:
It is well-known that highly-energetic heavily charged particles arising both from the fissioning of heavy elements and from cosmic and solar radiations leave tracks which have been found in glasses and crystal-line minerals recovered from lunar and meteoritic material. It has been shown that an appropriate analysis of these tracks can provide informationabout periods since solidification and the thermal and dynamic history of the specimen, as well as insight into the nature and temporal variation of the cosmic ray flux.1-2An understanding of the track registration characteristics of crystals is clearly an important pre-requisite to an appropriate interpretation of the natural tracks.3-6This letter describes briefly some observations we have recently made on one particular aspect of this-the anisotropy in track distributions which seems to result from the inherently anisotropic structure of crystals. This effect seems so far to have received little attention.
