摘要:
Collecting of caddisflies on Sachalin Island in 1989 yielded 24 species. Most of them are recorded from the island for the first time. Two species proved to be new to science. They are described asLype excisasp. n. andMystacides pacificasp. n. Additional information on morphological variation of some species is also presented.

摘要:
The hitherto undescribed ovipositing behaviour and eggs ofSimulium dentulosumRoubaud are described. The laying of eggs under a thin film of water on the vertical face of a weir wall represents a specialized form of ovipositing which ensures that the larvae are placed in their favoured habitat. It also confirms that this species is entirely adapted to developing in torrenticolous waters. The eggs swell by 51% of their original volume during development and are considered vulnerable to desiccation. The reduced size of adult female mouthparts suggests that the population of this species is autogenous.

摘要:
A new species of aquatic beetle from the Iberian Peninsula,Hydraena (Haenydra) manfredjaechisp.n., belonging to the family Hydraenidae is described and illustrated. The new species is closely related toHydraena (Haenydra) tatiiSainz‐Cantero and Alba‐Tercedor, 1989. The “tatii‐group”; is proposed to include both species. Notes on the ecology and distribution are offered.

摘要:
Velia capraiTamanini (Hemiptera: Veliidae) is predominantly a stream dweller, and has been considered univoltine in the British Isles, with adults overwintering in a reproductively immature state. This study reveals a far more complex life‐cycle. Dissections of females captured between October 1986 and March 1987 revealed that while 17% of individuals had deposits of adipose tissue and showed no reproductive development (diapause individuals), the majority of females examined (83%) revealed mature ovaries. This presence of a non‐diapause overwintering subpopulation of reproductively mature females has not been previously recorded for this species. The absence of adipose tissue in these latter females, plus the presence of obviously full guts in 24% of cases—indicating very recent feeding—supports this non‐diapause overwintering. Sampling also revealed that fifth instar larvae overwintered and these comprised 2.3% of all individuals (excluding first instar larvae) captured between November 1986 and March 1987.

摘要:
Leuctra queyrassianasp. n., a member of theLeuctra hippopusgroup(L. primasubgroup), is described as male, female and nymph, and compared with the relatedL. autumnalisAub. andL. capraiFesta. The new species is known only from brooks at high altitude between 2,200 and 2,700 m, and is probably endemic to the Queyras massif.
