摘要:
The flight periods and direction of flight ofStenopsyche angustata(Stenopsychidae),Macrostemum fastosum, M. lautumandPolymorphanisus astictus(Macronematinae: Hydropsychidae) were investigated from May 1983 to June 1984. Light trap catches indicated thatS. angustataadults were present throughout the year, whilst Macronematinae were most numerous in May and June and were not recorded during autumn and winter. Temperature may determine the flight period of Macronematinae in Hong Kong's seasonal tropical climate, but timing of emergence to reduce mortality of late‐instar larvae and pupae during wet season spates would produce the same temporal pattern.

摘要:
Leuctra apenninicolasp. n. is described and compared with the closely relatedL. insubricaAubert, including figures of the abdomens of both species.L. apenninicolaoccurs in small watercourses, mainly between 600 and 1500 m, and emerges from spring to summer. It occurs in the Apennines from Lombardia to Toscana.

摘要:
Pseudodiamesa nivosaa species commonly regarded as a boreo‐alpine one, has been recorded at an altitude of 345 m a.s.l., in the source section of the Pilica River (Cracow‐Czestochowa Upland, Poland) and in one of the vaucluse springs in the Roztocze Region (230 m a.s.l.). It seems that the newly recordedP. nivosapopulations might be regarded as a glacial relict connected with the periglacial zone.

摘要:
Drumming behavior is described for the first time in 9 Nearctic Perlidae and 8 Peltoperlidae species, and patterns of male drumming of the 29 Nearctic species in these two families are characterized. Male calling by use of a beatgrouping pattern is revealed for the first time in the Perlidae(Beloneuria georgiana, Eccoptura xanthenes)and male calls produced by abdominal rubbing against the substrate(Peltoperla tarteri4Tallaperlaspecies,Yoraperlasp.) and a combination of rubbing/tapping(Peltoperla arcuata)are new discoveries in the Peltoperlidae. Seven pair‐forming drumming characters are proposed, based on current knowledge of 104 world Arctoperlaria species. An out‐group comparison shows that rubbing, tremulating, beat grouping, interspersed exchange and prolonged female answers are derived characters found almost exclusively among Systellognathan families. A hypothesis of drumming evolution is proposed, that essentially advances the ideas: 1. terrestrial progenitors of Plecoptera were non‐drummers, 2. drumming behavior has never been developed in Antarctoperlaria and some genera of Arctoperlaria, particularly in the Euholognathan families and the Systellognathan family, Chloroperlidae, 3. the ancestral drumming pattern found predominantly in the Euholognatha was, and is, simple, with males producing monophasic tapping call signals, answered with monophasic tapping by females, and 4. selection pressures have acted to produce complex, derived drumming refinements that accommodate the requirement for species‐specificity (and species recognition), primarily in male calling.

摘要:
The occurrence and movement patterns of adult insects along a forested springbrook near Flathead Lake, Montana, USA, were studied during three 15‐day periods from 19 June through 9 August 1985, using a two‐sided Malaise trap. Of the Plecoptera, numbers of males and gravid females ofMalenka flexuragravid females ofZapadafrigidaand total numbers ofParaperla wilsoniwere significantly higher for downstream‐flying adults during one to three periods. Of the Trichoptera, numbers of males ofAnagepetus debiliswere significantly higher for upstream‐flying adults during one period, and males ofLepidostoma cascadenseand gravid females ofL. spicatawere significantly higher for downstream‐flying adults during another period. In none of the 26 species examined in these three orders did females show a statistically significant pattern of upstream flight.
