摘要:
Dragonfly (Odonata) larvaeAeshna junceaL. preyed on two species of cased caddis larva (Trichoptera);Limnephilus pantodapusMcLach. with long cylindrical cases andLimnephilus rhombicusL. with “hedgehog”; cases. Direct observations revealed thatA. juncealarvae had a significantly shorter reaction time and a significantly longer handling time when preying onL. pantodapuslarvae. Number of attacks, captures and ingestions byA. junceawere not significantly different between the two caddis larva. Capture success and ingestion efficiency did not differ significantly. Captures ofL. pantodapuslarvae were made through the case wall, whileL. rhombicuslarvae were captured from the front end of the case. In functional response experiments,A. junceashowed a higher attack rate and a longer handling time withL. pantodapus. In a mixed prey situation, a fixed preference forL. pantodapuslarvae was apparent, and consequently no indication of switching was found. Observational experiments corroborated data from the functional response experiments.

摘要:
The distribution and taxonomy of the MascareneRhantusare reviewed.Rhantus socialis(Waterhouse) andR. phoecaenarumGuignot are endemic to Rodriguez and La Réunion, respectively. The third Mascarene Rhantus isR. vinsonisp.n. from Mauritius. A lectotype is designated forR. socialis.Important features are illustrated for all of these species. MascareneRhantusare very probably of Ethiopian origin. The biology ofR. socialisandR. vinsoniis unknown;R. phoecaenarumof La Réunion is considered to be restricted to higher elevations (above 2000 m a.s.l.).

摘要:
Leuctra canavensissp. n., endemic to a restricted south‐eastern section of the Graian Alps where it inhabits spring rivulets, is described for male and female. The description is supported by original drawings both of the new species, and of the closely relatedL. brevipennisRav. andL. vesulensisRav. and Rav. Dem. Owing to their morphology, ecology and geographical distribution, these species appear to belong to a well defined subgroup within theL. hippopusgroup.

摘要:
This work describes the results of a study carried out in summer/autumn 1988 onBagous (Bagous) rufimanusHoffmann in Lago di Candia (northern Italy), where adults (males and females) larvae and pupae were observed on the floating leaved hydrophyteTrapa natansL.. The morphological characteristics of the pre‐imaginal stages are described and illustrated.
