Short‐term static bioassays were conducted in duplicate to determine sublethal effects of fluoride in soft water (hardness average value of 15.6 mg CaCO3/I) to larvae ofHydropsyche bulbifera, H. exocellata, H. lobata, H. pellucidulaandChimarra marginata(Trichoptera, Insecta). Last instar larvae of each species were exposed to 5–6 different concentrations of sodium fluoride (NaF) for 4 days. In addition, sodium and conductivity toxicity controls were performed with sodium chloride (NaCl). Compared with control larvae, animals exposed to NaF exhibited two main toxic effects before dying: (1) a migration from their retreat and capture nets (96 hours EC50 values were 19.2, 21.3, 34.8, 24.6 and 33.5 mg F‐/1 respectively) and (2) a protrusion of their anal papillae (96 hour EC50 values were 18.9, 20.5, 33.9, 23.5 and 108.5 mg F‐/1 respectively). Most protruded anal papillae were darkened inHydropsychespecies, the percentage of darkened anal papillae increasing as the fluoride concentration was higher.H. bulbiferaandH. exocellataappear significantly(P <0.05) as the most sensitive species to NaF. It is concluded that these sublethal effects were fundamentally due to fluoride ions (F‐).

摘要:
New data on someRhithrogenaspecies from Lebanon, Israel and Iran are provided. The nymph and egg ofRh. znojkoi(Tshernova, 1938) are described for the first time. A new species,Rh. paulinaesp.n., is described from the imaginai, nymph and egg stages, and its affinities are quoted. The systematic status ofEpeironDemoulin, 1964 is also discussed. On the basis of our material, as well as of the literature, evidence for the synonymy withRhithrogenaEaton, 1881 is presented.

摘要:
The recent description ofDrunella andaluciacaKazanci, 1990 (from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in southern Spain) was compared with the original description and with typical and additional material ofEphemerella (Chitonophora) nevadensisAlba‐Tercedor, 1983 (a species widespread in the Sierra Nevada Mountains). Accordingly,Drunella andaluciacaKazanci, 1990 is transferred to the genusEphemerellaWalsh, 1862 and synonymy betweenEphemerella andaluciaca(Kazanci, 1990) andEphemerella (Chitonophora) ikonomovi nevadensisAlba‐Tercedor, 1983 is established.

The larva and pupa ofApatania praevolansMorse are described and compared with those known of other North American species. The dorsal and lateral humps on abdominal segment I of the larva of A.praevolansare absent; the tergite on abdominal segment IX is triangular and bears two long setae. These two characters ofA. praevolanscan be used to distinguish the larva of this species from those of other described species. On each caudal process of the pupa, there are two subapical setae, one long and one short. A key to known Nearctic larvae ofApataniaspecies is provided.
