摘要:
The Aouali and Damour watersheds include the main river systems of southern Lebanon. Seven species of Simuliidae were collected from 27 sampling stations along these streams.Simulium nihan. sp. is described; it is related to the species of themonticola‐group. Three species have a restricted distribution within these streams, two of them being crenobiont. The others extend over wide altitudinal and ecological ranges.Eusimulium latizonum, Wilhelmia pseudequinaandSimulium nitidifronsare the dominant species of the black‐fly community.

摘要:
The morphology of 3rd‐instar larvae of the genusHydroporusClairville was studied. Generic characters are given to separate this genus from the generaSuphrodytesGozis andCoelambusThomson. Diagnostic characters for the separation of larvae of theHydroporusspecies are briefly discussed and the leg chaetotaxy is analysed so that names are applied to all setae and spines. Descriptions are given of the 3rd‐instar larvae ofH. brevisF. Sahlberg,H. nigellusMannerheim,H, rufifrons(O. F. Müller) andH. striola(Gyllenhal), all based on reared specimens from northern Sweden. A keyfor the identification of Hydroporus larvaeis provided, including also 6 additional species. Data on phenology and habitat of the 4 described species are appended.

摘要:
Ecnomus mennellisp.n. from Lake Naivasha, Kenya, belongs to thenatalensis‐group.E. thomassetiwas also found at the lake, and these are the first records of Trichoptera from Naivasha. Adults and larvae of both species were collected, and an analysis of the gut contents of the larvae showed them to be mainly predator y on small invertebrates. The ecological requirements and distribution of the African species ofEcnomusare discussed.
