Abstract This paper deals with the genusLimnophoraRobineau‐Desvoidy of China, including generic diagnosis, ecology and affinities; and a key to 49 Chinese species (male) and distributions are given. It is known that the species ofLimnophorain the Palaearctic region of China is similar to that in the Oriental region of China. Descriptions of two new species,L. biprominens, L. latifronsare given;L. beckeriStein 1907 is a new record to China; andL. guizhouensisZhouetXue, 1987 is revised toL. pubisetaEmden, 1965. 摘要:
Abstract The cotton bollworms,Helicoverpa armigeraHübner, collected from Handan of Hebei Province, have evolved high resistance to pyrethroid, organophosphate and carbamate insecticides, The sensitivity of acetylcholinesterase (AChEs) to paraoxon and methomyl varied with the development stages of the cotton bollworm. After the treatments with LD5and LD50of parathion and methomyl to the cotton bollworms, the affinity of AChE to acetylthiocholine (ATCh) and acetyl‐β‐bmethyl‐thio choline (MeTCh) increased significantly except the treatment of parathion using LD50dosage while the sensitivity of AChEs to paraoxon significantly decreased. The sensitivity of AChEs to methomyl strongly increased in the treatment of parathion using LD50dosages while strongly decreased in other treatments. The affinity of carboxylesterase to β‐naphthyl acetate (β‐NA) was higher in groups of treatment with insecticides than in group of control. The glutathione‐s‐transferase (GST) activity significantly decreased in the induced groups using LD5dosages, while increased in the selection groups using LD50dosages. The effects of parathion and methomyl on the phosphatases of cotton bollworm were related to the dosages of application and the time after treatment and the effect on the alkaline phosphatase was stronger than

Abstract A nonlinear model for simulating the spatio‐temporal dynamics of the damage level of the pine caterpillar,Dendrolimus punctatusWalker, is proposed in this study. It includes the self‐dependence (interaction) component, the reaction component, and the cross effect component. 摘要:
Abstract Kiwifruit plants,Actinidiasp., are native to subtropical China. The flower‐bud gall ofA. valvata, which is induced by an undescribed gall midge in the genusPseud as phond ylia, is valued by the pharmaceutical industry. When studying the biology of theActinid ia/Pseud as phond yliainteraction in Central‐south China we found evidence suggesting that under certain circumstances the gall insect modifies the reproductive mode of the dioecious host plant. Surveys and field experiments in the National Hupingshan Natural Reserve showed a high frequency of galled trees. The density of galled trees varied among valleys and among trees within the valleys. In two valleys, 92% and 75%, respectively, of all trees were attacked, while in a third valley no trees were attacked. When infested, staminate tree only produced galls, whereas pistillate plants produced normal fruits as well as galls. Gall shape differed between male and female trees. Trees with galls tended to produce more fruits than treea without galls. We speculate that this is one of a few documented examples of an insect that induces androdioecy in an otherwise functionally dioecious
