摘要:
AbstractThe autapomorphic and diagnostic characters of the genusAlloteraturaHebard 1922, are discussed and confirmed. The structure of male genitalia is revealed for the first time. New data are added to eight known species from Philippines and Malay Peninsula. Seven new species from New Guinea, Philippines, Malay Peninsula, Thailand and China are described. They areA. multispinaJin, sp. nov.;A. angulataJin, sp. nov.;A. plautaJin, sp. nov.;A. lamellaJin, sp. nov. (A. cylindracaudaJin, sp. nov.;A. saimemsisJin, sp. nov. andA. tibetensisJin, sp. nov. Remarks are also made on the distribution pattern of the genus.

For each of the new species, illustrations of dorsal view of body, pygidium and the patterns of tubercles and ridges on elytra are given. All the type specimens are kept in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.

摘要:
AbstractThe plasmid pGEMl, carrying CryIV D, CytA and 20‐kDa protein genes, was extracted and digested with Hind II /BamH I. A 5.4 kb fragment containing Cry IV D and 20‐kDa protein gene was purified and ligated to anE. coliTG1. The recombinant plasmid was analyzed by restriction map and Southern blotting to determine the correct insert. Then the recombinant was transferred intoBacillus thuringiensisacrystalliferous mutant Bti. IPS. 78/11 by electroporation. The clones with strong expressiveness were obtained. The engineered strains express 72‐kDa and 20‐kDa proteins and form irregular hexagon paras‐pore crystal. One strain bioassayed is very toxic toCulex fatiganslarvae with LC50of 0.

AbstractIsolation and identification of allatostatin 4 (AST 4) from crude brain extracts of femaleDiploptera punctataare described. Synthetic analogues of allatostatin 4 truncated from the N‐terminal were evaluated to gain some knowledge of structure‐activity correlation. AST 4 reversibly inhibits the biosynthesis of JHin vitro. AST 4 has the following sequence: Asp‐Arg‐Leu‐Tyr‐Ser‐Phe‐Gly‐Leu‐NH2. This neurohormone (AST 4) has no sequence similarity with any known neuropeptide from other organisms. AbstractElectroantennogram responses (EAGs) ofLysiphlebia japonica(Ashmead) (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae) to cotton plant volatiles and cotton aphid pheromones were measured with EAG recording techniques. No sexual difference of EAG responses was found to all test samples under concentration of 10 μl/ml. The most effective chemicals were 1‐heptanol, hexanal, heptanal, saturated primary‐alcohols with six‐carbon to nine‐carbon chain and benzaldehyde. Both male and female showed the highest EAGs to green leaf volatiles (GLVs) and moderate EAGs to terpenoids among which geraniol was the most active. Cotton aphid pheromones elicited relative high EAGs. Among the four plant extracts, cotton leaf extract was the most effective. Dose curves were constructed from six female wasps' EAGs to four chosen chemicals, in which GLVs showed lower thresholds than terpenoids. According to the results above, we may draw the following conclusions: GLVs could be more important in longer distance orientation, while terpenoids may be more important in shorter ranges. AbstractVegetation and grasshopper community variables were monitored on the natural steppes grazed by livestock in Inner Mongolia, China. The sites sampled belong to 3 vegetation types laid separately in 3 continuums from different grazing intensities. Each continuum consisted of 5 plots along grazing gradients. Within the plots, the species composition, population number and population calorific value of grasshoppers that was converted from their biomass varied sensitively with increase of grazing intensities. The methods of neartude and choosing rules of fuzzy mathematics were used to analyze successive populations of grasshoppers. By combining the gray relation with hierarchic cluster analysis, eleven grasshopper species were divided into 3 grazing guilds based on their responses to grazing. The results from detrended correspondence and the multivariate regression analysis proved that there were close successive relationships among the grasshopper species that varied with the changes of plant species, biomass, height and coverage. The importance of some grasshopper indicators to grassland change is discussed.

AbstractThe MX International Congress of Entomology was hosted by China in Beijing, June 28 to July 4, 1992. Because of the strong support of the Chinese government and the enthusiastic cooperation of the entire Chinese entomological community, the congress attracted more participants from more countries than ever before. This report compares the relative strength of Chinese entomological research programs with that of the outside world, the relative strength of different areas of China itself, and the hierarchy, multitude and diversity of institutions involved to varying extent in entomological programs.
