摘要:
Exposure of the highTcsuperconductor YBa2Cu3O7−&dgr;to60Co &ggr; irradiation up to 1.3 Mrad is found to have virtually no effect on its superconductive properties as measured by a novel variant of the microwave absorption method.

摘要:
We have fabricated thin films of YBa2Cu3Oxby dc triode sputtering from two metallic targets. Post‐annealing in pure O2after sputtering resulted in superconducting films with aTconset as high as 89 K and a midpointTcof 75 K. We report preliminary results of films deposited on sapphire, MgO and sol‐gel coatings of ZrO2on sapphire, with and without buffer layers of Ag. The chemical and physical structures of these films were analyzed by using several x‐ray diffraction techniques and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy.

摘要:
Measurements of the fluctuations in the tunneling currentItthrough a thin SiO2insulating layer, by means of an ultralow noise measurement set, showed that after a first time interval in which its power spectral density is stationary and proportional toI2t, an on‐off modulation ofItarises, just before oxide breakdown. This bistable noise seems to be related to localized phenomena controlled by trapping‐detrapping processes within the oxide. Two possible mechanisms which could give rise to this bistable noise are discussed.

摘要:
It has been found that by utilizing a sharp needle for the extractor electrode in close proximity to the source tip wetted with Cu3P liquid alloy, a large increase (factor ∼300) in ion current is observed in comparison to standard liquid metal ion sources (LMIS’s). In standard previously used LMIS’s the extractor electrode was a flat plane with a circular hole centered on the source needle tip. This new high current source has important applications in focused and broad ion beam deposition systems.
