摘要:
Numerical computations on a sine‐Gordon model of the Josephson junction fluxon oscillator are compared with experimental measurements. Good agreement is found for the voltage current characteristic, oscillator power output, and range of current bias over which oscillation is observed. Our numerical results imply a ’’bunched‐fluxon’’ mode of oscillation at larger values of bias current.

Convergent‐beam transmission electron diffraction was used to determine the crystallographic orientation of submicron‐sizedA15 structure V3Ga and Nb3Al precipitates formed by solid‐state precipitation from supersaturatedBCCsolutions. In each case the crystallographic orientation relation was (to within an uncertainty of ±5°): [001]A15∥[111]BCC; (100)A15∥(11¯0)BCC. This lattice correspondence is intuitively plausible, since it ensures that the closest packed planes and directions of the precipitate parallel to those of the matrix.

摘要:
A small mechanical shock (∼10 kPa) was applied to sputtered Nb3Ge films at room temperature. The superconducting transition temperatureTcof the films has been measured, and remeasured after application of the shock. The results confirm that the small mechanical shock improvesTcandTce(lower onset) markedly. Changes in the lattice parameter and improvement in the structural ordering of the high‐TcA‐15 phase after application of the shock have been observed from the results of x‐ray measurements.

摘要:
Charged wall formation mechanism at the contiguous disk bubble propagation pattern edges are investigated by using various kinds of garnet epitaxial layers with in‐plane magnetization. Charged walls were observed only in in‐plane magnetization layer with stress‐induced negative uniaxial anistropy energy. A model is proposed to explain the charged wall formation mechanism in ion‐implanted contiguous disk drive layer. It is suggested that, in order for charged walls to be held at the pattern edge, compressive lattice stress relief at the pattern edge is necessary, when the magnetostriction constant &lgr;111is negative.

Ion bombardment of aluminum films at doses greater than 3×1014cm−2inhibits the etching of aluminum by acids. Ions of B, P, N, Si, Al, As, and Ar are effective inhibitors. Bombardment randomizes the orientation of microcrystals; however, this may not be the primary reason for the observed corrosion resistance.

A number of experiments report that high‐frequency currents produce low‐frequency 1/fnoise in carbon resistors. We see no evidence of this ’’unrectified noise’’ in carbon resistors and a conducting fluid mixture.

摘要:
Data generated by an improved method of calculating the resolution of a trochoidal monochromator is given and comparisons made with existing experimental results. An agreement to better than 5% is obtained for electron energies extending over several orders of magnitude. Evidence is given which suggests a possible explanation for the complete shape of the observed transfer functions.

摘要:
One‐bit electro‐optical analog‐to‐digital conversions of up to 100‐MHz signals were carried out in a system using a Ti‐diffused LiNbO3balanced bridge modulator and a 1.15‐&mgr;m cw He‐Ne laser. The modulators have a new configuration with a phase shifter formed by Ti double diffusants and revealed relatively low half‐wave voltages and high extinction ratios.
