摘要:
In 1999, U.S. Surgeon General Satcher identified mental health care needs as one of the nation's top priorities. He made a clarion call for the provision and integration of mental health services within primary health care settings (Mental Health: A Report of the Surgeon General-Executive Summary). This article outlines an integrated practice model now in its fourth year where a private-practice OB-GYN group has integrated the services of a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Women who had previously failed to follow through on referrals to mental health clinicians with partially treated and recurring mood disorders have had successful treatment outcomes and high satisfaction with this integrated practice model.

摘要:
The goal of the California Strategic Planning Committee for Nursing (CSPCN) is to develop a master plan for the nursing work force. A description of the three phases of CSPCN's work includes the development of a forecasting model to measure the supply and demand for nurses. A CSPCN task force of representatives from nursing service, education, and professional organizations developed a competency based role differentiation model as part of phase two. Three regions across the state were selected to demonstrate the utility of the model. The sites are tri partnerships composed of a medical center, associate degree, and baccalaureate nursing programs. Model development and partnership building are described.

摘要:
This article describes a partnership between a baccalaureate nursing program and five medical centers and community hospitals located in Houston, Texas. This win-win collaboration has accomplished goals for the hospitals as well as the school of nursing and its students. The partnership meets hospitals' need for unlicensed personnel and the school of nursing's need for student financial support. Hospitals provide students with a scholarship and an opportunity to earn income as unlicensed personnel. In addition to financial support, students gain experience as a health care team member and under the supervision of school of nursing faculty earn elective academic credit. For the hospitals, this collaboration provides access to intelligent, motivated, reliable unlicensed personnel and the opportunity to recruit those individuals postgraduation.

摘要:
Collaboration between academia and practice organizations will result in nursing graduates that possess essential characteristics for success in a radically transforming health care environment and, likewise, will alter the practice environment in ways that will better support nurses' professional values and contributions to care of clients. Development of such a partnership is described in this article. Initially, one-year plans were developed in the areas of recruitment, continuing education, professional development, and research/scholarship. Initial outcomes exceed expectations and a synergism of energy and excitement has occurred.

摘要:
Primary care parish nursing is a practice model that resulted from a collaborative partnership between faculty members, medical center administrative and nursing personnel, and a parish priest and congregation. The primary purpose of this collaborative project was to provide easy access to underserved populations, promote early recognition and treatment of disease, and encourage healthy behaviors and lifestyle within a faith-based environment. The population attending this program was complex and diverse, with multiple physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs. The primary outcomes of this three-year program included case finding, case screening, and case referral.
