摘要:
The structure of perturbative quantum chromodynamics in kinematic regimes characterized by two large but very different mass scales is discussed. The various levels of approximation used to study these regimes are viewed. Of particular interest is the behavior for extremly different scales where the simplest approximation predicts a suppression. A more refined approximation suggests the absence of any suppression but it is argued that only a much more detailed analysis can supply a definitive answer to this issue.

摘要:
We give an expansion for the cross‐section for inclusive two‐particle production in e+e−annihilation. It is valid even when the particles are back‐to‐back and it includes all logarithmic corrections. As a special case it gives the energy‐energy correlation function. At small angle there is power‐law dependence on both the energy and the QCD scale.

We consider the impact of a modified leading order evolution equation on the analysis of data for structure functions for both neutrino and electron deep‐inelastic scattering. There are indications of a better description of the data with the modified evolution equation. Second evolution can imitate this approach but at high‐x it appears that higher‐order and higher‐twist corrections separate them.

Parton densities are defined through all orders of perturbative QCD using the cut vertex formalism. The Altarelli‐Parisi equations are used to study numerically the higher‐order QCD predictions for e+e− → h+X inclusive annihilation. Comparison is made with the deep inelastic lepton‐nucleon scattering.

摘要:
The momentum subtraction scheme MOM has been empirically successful in producing small QCD corrections to physical quantities at one loop order. By explicit calculations, we show that with a suitable shift in the renormalization scale, the minimal subtraction scheme coupling constant &agr;MScoincides with typical momentum scheme coupling constants at both one and two loop order.
