摘要:
This talk, after beginning with a brief review of the Cabibbo weak interaction, will survey some of the recent developments in weak interaction theory. The presentation is organized into first a discussion of developments in nonleptonic, leptonic and semileptonic interactions which will then be followed by selected topics of current interest that do not belong entirely to any one of these three categories of weak interactions.Obviously, the limited time has necessarily restricted the scope of the discussion.

摘要:
Weak V‐A interaction of colliding lepton beams at high energies is considered. It is assumed that the weak coupling constant G is the only parameter inherent to weak leptonic interactions so that terms of higher order become appreciable at total energy2E=s1/2of order G−1/2.It is shown that for colliding lepton antilepton beams of2 × 250 GeVthe contribution of weak interactions to the differential cross section of elastic scattering at angle&THgr; ≃ 90°prevails over that of electromagnetic interactions. The estimate of the weak cross section is based on the calculation of the imaginary part of the amplitude which is uniquely determined in the second order in G. Phenomenological description of the real part of the amplitude in the same approximation introduces a single unknown parameter. Provided the validity of dispersion relations with two subtractions is granted this parameter is related to the integral of total cross sections of ℓℓ and ℓℓweak interactions.Terms of the third order in G are studied in a similar way and estimation of the magnitude of these terms is given.

摘要:
This talk reviews the mathematical features of &lgr;&phgr;2Nfield theory in one‐dimensional space‐time. This model, when reformulated as a quantum‐mechanical potential theory, is known as the quantized anharmonic oscillator. Topics discussed include the nature of divergent perturbation theory, the analytic structure of the energy levels, and summability techniques. Recent results on the rate of divergence of perturbation theory are emphasized.
