摘要:
Linear viscoelastic properties of dispersions of vesicles are investigated by improving the cell model. The effective viscosity is defined as the response function of the average stress to the average velocity gradient. By noticing the difference between the average velocity gradient and that of the unperturbed flow, which is neglected in the previous theories on the cell model, the effective viscosity can be put into the form analogous to the Clausius-Mossotti equation for the permittivity of a dielectric as proposed by Bedeaux. The formula is applied to the calculation of the effective complex viscosity of nondilute dispersions. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.

摘要:
We discuss application of the continuous-time random walk (CTRW) model to studying the kinetics of pseudo-first-order reactions in zeolites. The model includes distance-dependent reaction mechanism, details of the zeolite structure, and dynamics of migration of guest molecules between adsorption sites. Diffuse-reflectance transient-absorption study of triplet anthracene quenching by azulene in NaY zeolite shows that quenching can occur when reactants are located not only in the same supercage but also in the neighboring supercages. Markovian CTRW model with nearest-neighbor interactions on a diamond lattice explains the experimental decay data. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.

摘要:
We demonstrate bifurcation diagrams in entrained state on the Oregonatore system under sinusoidal perturbations with the 2nd harmonics. The diagram against the amplitude of 2nd harmonics shows the various shape depending on the perturbed frequency, &ohgr;, and the initial phase, &Jgr;, of the 2nd harmonics. The numerical results were well agree with theoretical ones based on the phase dynamics theory. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.
